A pitch black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma is complex - quite sweet with dominating notes of dark chocolate and coffee, but also notes that reminds me of milk chocolate and oatmeal. The flavor is sweet, but not too much, with a complex palate of roasted malt, oatmeal, dark chocolate, as well as some coffee. The mouthfeel is fantastically smooth, and the aftertaste is sweet with a slight hint of the acidity like in a cup of coffee, combined with a slight bite from the alcohol - and it lingers for a long time. The aftertaste reminds me a great deal of drinking a great coffee.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a thick, creamy and very goodloking light brown head. Burned aroma with hints of coffee. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel. The body is - surprisingly - not very full, actually the beer is scaringly easy to drink. Very distinct accents of burned malts and a somewhat burned edge. Lightly burned bitterness. I believe the brewers could easily turn up the coffee presence. 170306

Bottled. Very black, brown head. Concentrated coffee aroma. Dryish, soft and rounded. The mouthfeel and relatice dryness makes it very drinkable despites it’s near full body. Very roasty, dark chocolate is evident and there are notes of tobacco. Most dryish very roasty beers gets a metallic edge, but this has non of that. Instead it finishes with lots of espresso-like lare bitterness. Very well made. Justifies it’s high rating.

66 cL bottle. Pours completely black with a huge creamy head, almost looks like chocolate cream. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee. I have to admit that the aroma is weak compared to the taste that follows - my oh my. creamy mouthfeel. Taste is very complex yet in perfect balance. First and foremost: I’m so happy not to encounter yet another helltauer beer :). There is coffee and bitter hops together with tart bitterness of the chocolate that is providing a differentiated bitterness through a sip. Starts hop bitter, then coffee followed by chocolate and ending in a characteristic coffee bitterness blended with hops. Chocolate and oatmeal also provide a sweetness and softness throughout. Aroma hops (cascade and centinnial) gives the beer a slight touch of freshness without at any time stealing the picture from this full coffee, chocolate and oatmeal breakfast.

Bottle. Dark, dark brown. Roasted coffee beans, mocha and a light smokeyness in aroma with some piney / rasiny hops. Cold black coffee and pine flavour with some smoke and hints of liquorice. Extremely roasted and very dry. Big body.

Bottle. Hoppy aroma with some coffee. Black colour, brown head. Nice flavour, the coffee is distinct, but not overdone. Quite bitter. Soft, creamy mouthfeel.

Bottled. Pitch black colour with huge brown head. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee with hints of dark chocolate. Flavour is roasted, coffeeish and toffee. Also some fruits and berries are noteable, though so weak I can’t specify them. Great brew, where the aftertaste stays very roasted malt and long. Very wellbalanced, and stoutish indeed! Thanks to TBone_ who got it from Papsoe and shared it with me!
