From bottle : Pour dark black, with some carb bubbles on the sides of the glass. A half finger of brown head forms, then falls down to some lilly pad bubbles with a thin ring of foam. Nose is lots of roasted coffee beans and malt. Also some alcohol with dark chocolate. Taste is roasted coffee at the start, that works its way to chocolate on the back side. Some alcohol in the end. Medium body, very smooth, with a roasted chocolate and alcohol aftertaste. Pretty good, but different then what i was expecting.

Jul 27, 2008 bottle. outstanding. this one lives up to the overall percentile and placement in the charts. hops dipped in coffee - that pretty much sums this one up. pours a deep dark black with a huge tan head. some chocolate, coffee aroma - but not as strong as I would like. Huge bitterness and nice oat / coffee base. Huge, full body that is extremely smooth and inviting on the palate. The finish is what makes this one so outstanding... excellent bitter hop profile while keeping the roasted coffee flavor intact.

Jul 25, 2008 Deep black opaque color with a light brown head that lasts. Espresso, tobacco and roast aromas. Great flavor! Coffee, caramel, some butter, and tobacco in the taste. Nice aftertaste. Slight alcohol in the finish.

Jul 20, 2008 Jet black pour with a gigantic rocky tan head. Aroma of butterscotch, coffee, caramel, tart ripe fruit, brandy, and Mexican chocolate. The flavor has lots of bitter dark chocolate with oak, cherry, tobacco, and black coffee. Full oily body with moderate carbonation.

Jul 20, 2008 Deep coffee, molasses, cherries and leather in the nose. Dark brown verging on black with a tan oily head. Fat hops and burnt sugars. more molasses, coffee beans, leather, tobacco, salt, . Finishes with fresh herbal noble hop bitterness (halletaure?) coffee, and vegital hop flower. Really shines after it warms.

Jul 19, 2008 pour is jet black with a large brown head, very nice lacing.
smell of cocoa, roasted espresso, touch of vanilla bean.
taste is backers chocolate, coffee, some sour malt, a roastiness, ends dry with some bitterness to it, as it warms becomes more milky.
