4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A nice dark brown body with a nice brown head that faded away a little too quickly. Aroma had good roasted malt notes, I could really get the coffee. Some sweetness from chocolate malts and oats. There was a faint hint of smoke in the background. Flavor was velvety smooth. There was great roasted coffee notes upfront, a sweetness from the chocolate really complemented the coffee notes. Finish had a mix of mild smoke and some hops. It did have a nice sweetness to it, probably from the oats. A well balanced beer.

Quite a lot of coffee a little hoppy and bitter too with a substantial acid bite Andy thinks alright prolly the hops covering the coffee. So expensive tho so Julie gives 3.8

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

4.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pitch black colour. It looks like old oil engine. Head is big and stable, nice lacing too. Aroma is not very intensive (the weakest side of beer) dominated by coffee, roasted malts with hint of vanilla, smoke and citrus hoppiness. Taste is medium to heavy sweet , medium bitter and light to medium sour. It’s taste like cold espresso with brown sugar and citrus. Very rich and complex stuff. Very long medium bitter and sour finish. Coffee note is sensible during few minutes after last sip. Full body. Soft carbonation. Fantastic stout, but I wish it could had stronger aroma.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
I was holding onto this for a while and accidentally freeze distilled it in the back of the fridge. But I can attest that it hides the alcohol well even at a higher ABV. The oatmeal seems to lend a nice smoothness that blends into the coffee. Possibly the best incorporation of coffee I’ve tried -- it’s almost part of the malt profile and has only a little bitterness in the back. Not too sweet. Like drinking a good iced coffee, only thicker. Superb. Wish I hadn’t left a few ounces as an ice sphere.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a black colour with toffee head. Strong aroma of coffee with a faint note of alcohol. Flavor was rich with coffee, oat, and eventual bitterness. Heavy mouthfeel and with an intense bite. Good porter, but a harsh brew to drink leisurely.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Stockmann in Tallinn (€ 4,20), Oct 2014. Pours black with a thick dark tan head that laces and retains nicely. Wonderful aroma of roasted malts, coffee, bitter chocolate and spicy citrusy hops... more as it warms, accompanying with some booziness. Taste is is roasty and chocolaty sweet at first, but that is quickly buried in the thick and resinous bitterness of Centennial and Cascade. Finishes bitter with returning roastiness, and soothing alcoholic warmth. Soft palate with very little carbonation, and a slick, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Near perfect.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Great classic stout aroma with a bit more coffee than usual. Appearance is just my kind of beer: pitch black with dark-brown foam. Flavor is excellent, again the coffee comes through. Mouthfeel nice and rough (like a good porter). Overall one of the best oat-based stouts I’ve had.
