Dark dark black, dark brown. Coffee, chockolate, vanilla in the aroma, not to intense. Cold coffee chockolate with intense burned aftertaste. Medium body. A nice one for coffee drinkers.

Pours deep black with medium brown head. Nose is coffee and raisin, with a milky touch. Aromas are roasted malts, coffee, raisin, dark fruits, with a piney note. Low carbonation, creamy texture. Long roasty finish. Astounding coffee stout!

330ml bottle from Mikkeller bottle shop. Black, fluffy tan head. Roasted coffee aroma, bitter spices, light smokiness. Very tasty, coffee, roasted espresso beans, grilled lemon, meat marinade, green herbs, mildly sour. Medium carbonated bubbles that feels back in the mouth, creamy mouthfeel. Sweet and bitter in the finish.

On tap at Erz Winti. Pours dark black. Aroma of oatmeal, almost bread-like. Intense perfect taste of roast malts and good hops, perfectly balanced and well finished. An impressive stout indeed.

Bottle. Dark brown/black colour with dark brown medium head. Aroma is mainly licorice, also bit cocoa and hints of vanilla. Taste is dominated by coffee with some cocoa, vanilla, hops and roasted malts. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Finish is coffee, roasted malts and hops.

33cl bottle from Öl Huset in Helsinki. Was expecting for more, but still this was stout made to perfection. Oliy dark brown, almost black, color with small long lasting cappucino head. Super smooth body with excellent flavors of toasted rye, dark coffee and cocoa nibs. Usual Mikkeller quality, but not near the best of ones I tasted.

0.33 bottle. Dark brown color and a small brownish head. Aroma of dark malts, some coffee, cocoa, and most importantly wood. Taste is very malty, dark chocolate, again wood, some smoke. Medium body, slick texture, and soft carbonation. Finish is overcome by coffee. Overall quite a good beer, but then again it’s hard to mess up a stout.

Bottle. Aroma is dark malt and dry coffee. Appearance is motor oil black with little, if any, tan head. Taste is coffee and oat with black malt. Plate is dry and espresso with a hint towards cardboard. Overall, a very well done stout. Would like to try some of the other renditions of this brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A 330ml bottle with a best before date on the bottle cap of 20th May 2019, and poured into a snifter glass. The beer poured pitch black with maybe just under one finger tan head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving nice stringy lacing. Aromas mainly of coffee and dark chocolate along with some slight cognac alcohol and raisin smells. Espresso coffee taste dominates throughout along with a bit of dark chocolate leaving a long lingering bitter aftertaste. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. A creamy beginning but dry finish. Overall, I enjoyed this a lot as I regularly drink black coffee and the lingering bitter aftertaste was excellent. I would be very interested to try out all the different barrel aged versions if I ever get my hands on those bottles. However, this is not quite there at Founders Breakfast Stout level which is still my favourite non BA coffee based stout.

bottle. Thick black with small head. Very nice stout with huge coffee. I appreciate that while full-flavored, this is not overdone at all. Having had both this and the Anchorage variety, I’d give a very slight advantage to the AK version for complexity.
