50 cL bottle at Stone. Black pour with 1 finger mahogany head. Roasty aroma of nuts, coffee, and campfire. Very smooth mouthfeel with burnt tones of coffee, chocolate, and smoke. Way too drinkable. I finished 2 bottles back to back.

22oz bomber. Pours pitch black, with a huge thick mocha head. Aroma is big on the coffee, roasted malts and a hint of chocolate. Tastes of bitter coffee, deep roasted malts, char, with slight notes of oatmeal and dark fruit. Really rich and silky.

Pretty epic beer. Strong roasted coffee notes on the nose with a strong tang of bitterness. Continues in the mouth with a deep coffee richness and an oily mouth feel. Deep flavour that has a very long finish. Excellent and complex.

Bottle. This beer is fantastic! Pours a slick and oily black body, thing brown/white head, a really overpowering but enjoyable espresso-like aroma, slick and heavy to tongue, tastes sweet syrupy with a very complex chocolate/coffee taste which starts really smooth and sweet and seeps down the back of your throat into a dark and crisp finish. Again, this beer is just fantastic, its full bodied flavour is really really lovely, this is one which stout fiends like myself will adore!

May 2011, 0,5l bottle (batch #357) sampled @ first ever BBGTC tasting: Fyldig sødmerik lukt med preg av mørk malt, humle, kaffi, mørk sjokolade, litt salt lakris, røyk og tørka frukt. Fyldig sødmerik smak med preg av mørkbrent malt, syrlig kaffi, humle, lakris, mørk sjokolade, tjære. God bitterhet som set litt. Veldig god.

Gift from MagsinVA. Thanks sis! Purchased at Connecticut Avenue Liquor and Wine. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam. Nice roasted coffee notes on the nose. This is good stuff! I’m trying to drink it slowly but I keep gulping it down. Subtle coffee notes on the tongue blend nicely with the roasted malt. It has almost a jello like mouth feel. Finish lingers a bit. Very nice!

Poured a dark black with a sandy head. Smelled strongly of dark chocolate and coffee. Taste of coffee and oatmeal, which balanced out very nicely. Strong coffee aftertaste. An overall awesome beer.
