4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From a 50cl bottle, pour a deep black color with a thick dark beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, hops, coffee and dark chocolates. Flavors of coffee, dark chocolates, malts, hops, grass, herbs. Soft carbonation, Light bitterness and light sweetness, but good strong coffee, chocolate and hops tastes present. Long lasting taste in mouth. Very tasty and enjoyable. Nice to finish the evening with, like a dessert beer.

This bottle is a few years old. The aroma is malt, caramel, a little chocolate and coffee. Pours black with caramel brown head, mostly diminishing, good lacing. The taste is bitter and long. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation average and the finish bitter. Flavors of coffee very good. SUCKS that we can’t get Mikkeller in Michigan any more!

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black color and a quite dark brown head. Roasted, sweet and slightly smokey aroma of oats, dark malts, coffee, some chocolate and a bit of hops. Tastewise loads of very bitter coffee, chocolate, liqorice. Not very sweet but some fruitiness nontheless. Good beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Mikkeller Bangkok. Poured a clear dark mahogany with a frothy tan head. The aroma is dry smoky roasted malt. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a big roasty liqourice coffee alcoholic bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Didn’t really get the chocolate at all, just lots of roasty liqourice bitter.

I was not aware of what i was drinking, so i was not biased about it. Indeed its very pleasant, but its not the best beer out there. Nice roasted malt, full taste and long aftertaste.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
BOTTLE 33CL. Starts with a huge cold cofeee aroma, very roasty, chocolate, aniseed and a touch of alcohol. The coffee gradually goes away, leaving room for sweeter aroma - chocolate, coffee liquor. The taste is also full of coffee and chocolate, but still is more straight forward that he aroma. Some citrus hops in the finish. Medium body.

Imperial stout travolgente e decisa, dal gusto ricco, appagante, con una caffettosità quasi mistica. Da bere e ribere e ribere...

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
(330ml bottle @ Pitcher’s, Linköping, Nov 11 2014) Pours black with basically no head. Great nose of dark malts, toasted or lightly burnt wood (not ashy), medium/dark roast coffee, some dark chocolate with hints of sweetness, soy is light but detectable. On the palate, cold pressed coffee, a little raw cane sugar sweetness at first, quickly fades. Some dry dark chocolate joins the coffee in the middle, a bit of dark malt character. Roast quite present from both coffee and malt, but it is not overpoweringly burnt, just nice and dry. Oat character helps support that dryness from the middle on. Lightly woody, but not in the barrel sense. Medium-full slick body with light prickly carb. Long finish of coffee and roast, dry with no booze. I really love the dry, smooth coffee-driven character of this beer, so rich and flavourful but nowhere close to cloying and sweet. Perfect for breakfast!
