Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Cph.
Pours completely black with a small, creamy, beige film head. Super complex aroma with oak, coffee, dark chocolate, sherry, berry tartness, cognac and soft roasted malts. Medium carbonation, a bit spritzy, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit weak at first (’cos of the spritziness, perhaps), then dry and bitter. Lots of dark chocolate, fine fruitiness, vinious. Cherry-wine notes, sherry and a hint of oaky smoke. Okay delicious, but there are many flavours that are not at all integrated into eachother. Extremeness for extremeness sake, perhaps? Fun, though!

Draught at Mikkeller, Copenhagen. Really black, no head. Oaky vanilla dominates the nose with raspberries just behind. Sweet and full bodied. The raspberry and vanilla hides tar, chocolate and coffee. Dense and heavy, intense and somewhat vinous with warming finish. Works surprisingly well.

From tap at Mikkeller baren. Pours dark brown with a fully gone head. Aroma is phenolic and raspberry. Sweet raspberry fruity flavoured. Dark roasted malty and quite sweet and slight citric raspberry fruity. Lovely lingering and fruity flavoured into the far finish. Nice.

Tab @ Mikkeller Bar. Opaque black pour minimal brown rim. The aroma has everything, whisky, oak, cherries, sherry, berries, fruit, chocolate, roastiness, coffee and vanilla. Very complex nose, but a bit on the sweet side for me. The taste has whisky, cherries, coffee, roast, vanilla, booze, very sweet indeed, also too sweet for me. Not bas tasting, it’s just very sweet. Low carbonation, big body, long duration, high viscosity.

pharkanklaus (34) - KBH N, DENMARK - MAY 6, 2010
Tap @ Mikkeller Bar. Pitch black, no head. This beer tastes like a highland whiskey! After a while some beer-like maltflavours become noticable - chokolate and licorice. Intense taste of raisin, caramel cofee. Medium to low carbonation. A very interesting and enjoyable experience - I could go for one more.

A Mes rate. Draught at Mikkeller.
Opaque black with a thin dark tan rim. A damn good looking beer. The aroma is just completely overwhealmed with raspberry syrup. Similar to the Marble Decadence, it’s just far too much for me. The flavour is just the same. Sickly medicinal cherry and just about some of the smoky One For One showing through. Finishes far too slowly for me, I just want it to be over. No doubt plenty of people would love this but it’s just not for me at all. Sim’s additions (an they’re my numbers too!): I disagree with Mes on this one...but you know what they say about girl’s likin’ fruit beer :p The aroma promises a Christmas evening’s unveiling of a Mon Cherie cherry liquor chocolate. Sweet, but tart with the taunt of alcohol when really you’ve already had enough. Dark chocolate & raspberries. Flavour is sweet and tangy; dark chocolate with the hit you get from raw cocoa. Raw paint thinner - but in the nicest way possible. Finish lasts a mile that a chocolatier could only dream of.
