Bottle shared by Sjogro. Black with small brown head. Lots of bourbon up front with vanilla, brown sugar and wood. Then the coffee kicks in with bitter espresso, medium string roast and a touch of spicy honey. Some molasses, dark chocolate, rum and fudge too. Quite sweet with soft roasted bitter notes and lasting bittersweet finish with slight alcohol. Full bodied with velvety feel and low carbo. Nice.

330 ml bottle poured into a Bruery tulip. Black with no more than half a finger of tan head. 10.9% version with the orange Keith Shore label. Aromas of dark chocolate, fudge, strong roasted coffee, almost a little hot peppery note, slightly boozy bourbon. Tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, some bourbon and oak. Pretty good, better than some of their other barrel aged Beer Geek offerings but the barrel aging could still use a little work for more character.

Longtime want. Bottle bought at Bierhalle Deconinck. So creamy, such a thick mouthfeel, coffee, roast, vanilla and bourbon. Almost the perfect beer for me. Light bitterness. Truly awesome.

Oh boy. What a loveley beer. So smooth and so creamy. Great on the nose with whiskey, chees, chocolate and coffee. It?s taste is so complex, so balanced. The flavours alternate beautifully in your mouth. From Whiskey, to Stout and so on. Mocca, iced coffee, chocolate icecream. Yes! Low carbonation, but great!

Bottle shared with Guillaume from Saveur-Biere.com - Color: deep dark black beer with no carbonation and small brown head. Smell: roasted malt, caramel, coffee, barrel aged. Whiskey finish. Very strong aroma. Taste: not so strong palate. Not so sweet. Caramel notes, and roasted malt. Strong coffee attack and alcohol with barrel aged notes. Notes of bourbon. Sweet finish. Aftertaste: Whiskey taste. Roasted and coffee malt. Caramel and sweet alcohol.

50cl bottle, 2009 12.7%. Pours black with a nice brown head. Aroma is oustanding with bourbon, sweet fruit, dark dried fruits, coffee, chocolate, wood, vanilla and liquorice. Flavour is sweet and light bitter. Full bodied, oily, soft texture - almost flat. Finish is sweet, warming alcohol and surprisingly complex. Considering the age this is a nice surprise!
