Keg at BD Camden, 21/03/15. Light black topped with an attractive tan swirl. Nose is rich dark fruits, chocolate, light oaky wood, spice, raisens, toffee fduge, booze fumes. Taste comprises mellow dark fruits, spice, chocolate, black pepper, charr, earthy. Full bodied, fine carbonation light oily feel, warming alcohol in the close. Solid BA impy, pretty subtle.

Das Bier ist schwarz und es hat eine geringe aber sehr schöne braune Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, alkoholisch, Holzfass, Vanille, Kaffee. Geschmack extrem nach Vanille, sehr cremig, süß, schokoladig, sehr vollmundig, eine reine Geschmacksexplosion, wow!

Tap at Mikkeller Bar, Stockholm, last of the keg, lucky me. Really mouth and very luxurious. The bourbon is well integrated into the base beer. Great stuff

500ml bottled in Oct 2009 at 12.7%. Post-exam celebration beer. Black, very small foamy brown head settles to a ring. Aroma is strong bourbon - the usual coconut and vanilla, paint, maybe some metallic coffee. Body is medium, slightly foamy, low carbonation. Taste is semisweet coffee, coconut, creamy vanilla, a little floral ashiness in the finish. Bourbon is very well integrated and no alcohol in the flavour. Very good. Dangerously drinkable for the strength.

Bold super smooth IMP bomb! Huge maltiness, roasted malts, coffee, dark choco, perfect bourbon touch, wood, vanilla. Warming alco finish, but never gets too harsh. Bittersweet. Oily smoothness all the way. Maybe not the very top, but close enough. Awesome brew.

Thick dark ruby brown, thin greasy lacing and no head. Rich coconut, stewed figs. Rich spicy coconut. Steeped thick choc cake spongey malt. Wet leather. Thick, treacley mouthfeel but fades nicely and ensures a brisk boozy finish.

Compared with Islay Edition this was more gentle, more rounded, balanced with kind of calvados apple like hints in flavor than corn. More gentle finish, more wooden notes in aroma.
