3.5 years old. Low in carbonation. High on precipitate. Coffee is strong. Roasted, chocolate and boozy. This is good!

May 2011, 0,5l bottle (batch #462) sampled @ first ever BBGTC tasting: Fyldig sødmerik lukt med preg av mørk malt, humle, kaffi, bourbon, vanilje, mørk frukt, mørk sjokolade, litt tre. Fyldig smak med preg av mørk malt, humle, bourbon, vanilje, mørk frukt, syrlig kaffi, mørk sjokolade, litt lakris. Middels bitterhet som set litt. Veldig god.

Aged 3.5 years. Pours black with a very dark tan head. Nose shows coffee, bourbon, oak, vanilla, roasted malt, coconut and cocoa. Lovely. Bold flavours. Lots of roasted malt and coffee along with bourbon and soft oak. A fair bit of booze, but not aggressive or sharp. Pretty full-on. Carbonation is almost non-existent. Needs a creamier mouthfeel.

Bottle at Bruce’s, thanks to Leighton. It pours opaque dark brown with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, fudge, vanilla, toasted coconut, chocolate and peanut brittle. The taste is roasted malt, earth, medicinal, boozy, bourbon, vanilla, TCP, wood and decent bitterness with a warming, roasty finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A pretty big beer all-round, but I couldn’t get through much.

Bottle @ Bruce’s. Many thanks to Leighton for busting out this Mikkeller rarity! The pour’s deep murky brown with small tan head. The nose is fig, rich chocolate cake, treacle, burnt brown sugar. Notes of vanilla and wood. The taste is strong vanilla and wood. Boozy chocolate covered prunes. Rich flavors, though I don’t get much civet coffee in this. Oily, full body. Slightly hot. Overall, pretty excellent stuff.

Bottle shared by Pallieter85, thank you! Aroma coffee, strong roasted, lightly burnt, very light tar. Black colour. Taste fruity plums, really strong roasted to burnt. The taste is really strong and coating, it could use some softening, lets say with ice cream. Nice experience, though certainly not exceptional.

Bottle at Bruce’s, London. Pours super thick black-brown with a dense, beige cream head. Lots of fresh, pungent coffee in the nose, some dark chocolate, bourbon, light vanilla, burnt wood, dark cherries. Medium to big sweet flavor, rich, somewhat dry coffee, dirt, roasted malts, lots of dry, charred wood, earthy bitterness, some raisins and other dried, dark fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, dry mocha, plenty of dry, burnt wood, charred malts, coffee ice cream, baking cocoa, bittersweet chocolate. Great stuff overall. Damn hefty, but tons of character and depth.

Bottle brought to our tasting by Pallieter85, many thanks. Almost black color with medium beige head. Strong coffee aroma with dark chocolate, bourbon and soya sauce. Taste is mostly bourbon and soya sauce, coffee, licorice. Strong alcoholic finish. Very boozy beer.

Not much aroma or taste, but could be useful when thirsty. [short review due to it coming from my backlog]
