0,33L bottle (from bierkompass.de), BB 23.05.24. Pours dark brown-black with light brown head. The head stays for a second. Aroma is intense dark chocolate, bourbon, coffee, malt. Flavor is very sweet, dark chocolate, bourbon, ash, salt. Overall: good brew. I really enjoyed the aroma, but flavor was major let down.

suurjuust (1361) - ESTONIA - JAN 15, 2015
Dark brown beer, small tan head. Nose is bourbon, roast, stale coffee notes and the whole thing just does not mesh. Flavor is way better, the bourbon dominates, way less coffee, warming booze, chocolate, some vanilla and citric tones, candy sweetness. Like eating chocolate with oranges. Niiice.

330ml bottle @Martjoobolut - congrats!
Aroma’s all over the place. Stale, and coconut = NOOOOO! Taste is the opposite, it all gels well. Beautiful mellow roast, slight hint of chocolate cake. Black, almost no head. Bourbon works so well with this type of beer, sweetness of the vanilla adds to the sweet mellowness. From the aroma, I thought I would be the lowest rating, but no, this is lovely. BA done well. -ish.

500ml bottle courtesy of mixos. Black color with brown head. Aroma is roasted malty, chocolate, coffee, spicy, dark fruits, wood. Sweet and bitter taste like the aroma with some vanilla. Full body almost creamy with soft carbonation.

Aged Bottle (2009) thanks to Mixos ! Pours deep dark, black with a thin brown head that leaves very quick. Amazing aromas of Bourdon, coffee, dark fruits, chocolate and wood. Taste is also wonderful with bourbon and coffee conquers your tongue, chocolate and wood, liquorice, full body with low carbonation. Bittersweet aftertaste that last long and very dry mouthfeel... Amazing beer !!

Bottle shared thanks to charule. Pours a blackish brown with a medium brown head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, booze. Taste is sweet but also hot. This beer isn't overly hot but it is over 5 years old so it's a bit hot for the age. Just a bit abrasive at the end.

gEUS (1301) - Linden, BELGIUM - DEC 16, 2014
330 ml bottle, latest batch (with the yellow-orangy labels, clearly a Keith Shore design. Pours opaque intense dark brown with a dark brown amber hue. Tiny to no head, dark beige. Huge yet subtle vanilla nose, coffee grind, intense dark chocolate. Medium to big body, sweet, roast, tad of alcohol in the finish, but very gentle and balanced overall. Impressive roast and burnt caramel in the taste. One of the better versions ever tasted.
