Pours oily black with minimal deep brown head. Aroma of figs, raisins, chocolate, muscovado and deep port and calvados barrels. It's immature bourbon, fresh barrels, very fiery. Taste is vanilla, chocolate, light coffee, almost like a booze infused brownie. Clear bourbon barrel notes. Body is thick, rich, creamy. I quite like this, even though some might argue the bourbon barrel influencw is almost overbearing.

2014 Lervig version yellow label. Pitch black, thick color, small head. Aroma is outstanding. Subtle bourbon, subtle vanilla, subtle oak, subtle burn, very delicate. Texture is thick, long complex finish. One of the better barrel aged imperial stouts out there

Flaske medbrakt av Carsten. Svart oljeaktig konsistens. Lite karbonert. Liten beige skumrand. Smaker bourbon og alkohol. Liten antydning til kaffe, lakris og eik. Overhodet ikke lik originalen. Bourbonsmaken har tatt helt overhånd. Hadde den hett mikkeller bourbon bonanza hadde den fått full score

500ml bottle, thanks to b3shine for sharing. Bottle says it’s aged 3 months in bourbon barrels. Batch 463, bottled 221009, best before 221014. Labeled 10.7%. Very dark brown, near black color. Thin ring of light brown head, couple bits of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Good chewiness. More dry finish. Dark fruit, a lot of tannic character, some raisin. Moderate bitter, light sweet, light bit of tart. Kind of disappointed by this. Maybe past it’s prime, I think. Some oxidization flavors evident. Some soy. Maybe the brewery shouldn’t have been so zealous with their best-by date.

So... I had a couple of guys over, and what they brought with them, was this shit. Yep, Pour is pitch black, with a small creamy tan head. Aroma is pretty sick, with plenty of coffee, earth, chocolate, nuts, bread, slight roast, oatmeal, weak vanilla, cacao powdered marzipan, finish licorice, slight booze. - Pretty complex... Yep. The taste is pretty sweet, but is very well balanced with plenty of roasted bitterness. Semi-full bodied, with a rather flat, but "mellowing" carbonation. This was bottled in 09, and has aged marvelously.. Thanks @Vestergaard and RasmusOtt for sharing this S.O.B.

50 cl, 2009 bottle. Pours reddish black with a nice, fluffy brown head. Aroma has gunpowder, bourbon, vanilla, smooth coffee, caramel. Taste has a nice sweetness, slight chocolate, heavy roast, a little smoke, licorice, coffee. It’s indeed old, and the bourbon is really well incorporated in the beer. The coffee doesn’t have the same power, and tastes a little like coffee that has been boiled a little to long.. But it’s alright when the beer has so much else to offer. Slightly alcoholic, but in a very mature way, and it carries it well. Round full body with a medium to low carbonation. Very good and nostalgic stuff!

50cl bottle from first release, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, nice stable beige head. NOSE: bourbon, wood, dense coffee, mocha, some vanilla there as well. TASTE: bourbon, alcohol, lots of vanilla, some mocha, amazing balance!
