Bottle. Newest batch. Pour is pitch black with a small but dense tan head. Nose has loads of bourbon notes, sweet vanilla and some booze. Taste is smooth and sweet with vanilla, toffee, cocoa, milk chocolate and some light tar. Not so much coffee as in the original one, still very very good!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a jet black color, with a decent, copper brown head, which disappears quickly, leaving back only the thinnest lacing at the side of the glass.
Huge bourbon character qualities develop from the glass, with wood, earth and a sharp alcoholic sting accompanied by lots of unsweetened chocolate. This gets attended by only hints of bitter coffee, which transforms into a creamy, bitter-chocolate impression with a toffeeish alcohol bite to it.
Incredible smooth, creamy beginning with rich milk chocolate among earthy, slightly honeyed malts. Bourbon comes up from the back of the palate, joined by semi-dry, slightly bitter coffee beans, complementing amazingly well the already established chocolate creaminess. The bourbon qualities get highlighted by molasses, acting as a well fitting counterpart to the sharp, alcoholic note, maintaining an enjoyable balance. Then the coffee unleashes its bitterness, taming both, sweeter and boozy flavors, putting back the palate into the initial direction of this brew. Calmed coffee bitterness and again, milk chocolate become recognizable during the finish, now accompanied by a more accentuated, toffeeish maltiness. Wow, this is by far the most complex of the Mikkeller Weasel brews I’ve had, and it is extremely careful and well executed. Full-bodied, incredible smooth, forming almost a flavor circle on the palate while drinking, it finishes the way it started, convincing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Inky black pour, staining glass brown. Savoury meaty aroma with mild bourbon smell. Taste is the same with a lovely vanilla sweetness. High level cocoa dark chocolate, mild coffee. Nice stuff but not worth the insane price.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330 ml bottle, latest batch (with the yellow-orangy labels, clearly a Keith Shore design. Pours opaque intense dark brown with a dark brown amber hue. Tiny to no head, dark beige. Huge yet subtle vanilla nose, coffee grind, intense dark chocolate. Medium to big body, sweet, roast, tad of alcohol in the finish, but very gentle and balanced overall. Impressive roast and burnt caramel in the taste. One of the better versions ever tasted.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Bottle) Black colour with dense, brown head. Roasted, malty nose with black coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, oak wood, liquorice and a touch of bourbon. Malty, roasted taste with notes of strong black coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak wood, bourbon, hints of rum, liquorice, dark fruit and a generous coffee bitterness in a sweet, vinous finish with a fair amount of bourbon shining through. Full body, fairly sweet. Subtle is not really the word, it’s quite powerful and very tasty. Lovely beer!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared thanks to charule. Pours a blackish brown with a medium brown head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, booze. Taste is sweet but also hot. This beer isn't overly hot but it is over 5 years old so it's a bit hot for the age. Just a bit abrasive at the end.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours near black in color with a nice tan head. Mmm, awesome. There’s some roasted coffee, darker chocolate, burnt and wet wooden notes with hints of salty and lushy licorice in aroma. Later on the vanilla and oak mixed with smooth spicyness takes over. Nice. Cocoa powder, chocolatecake and lots of coffee mixed with vanilla and smooth oak in taste. Bitter and slightly dry mouthfeel. There’s also some strong notes of roasted malts and slightly burnt wood mixed with earthy herbs in aftertaste. Yet this one feels quite smooth on the whole and there’s a soothing warm vinous effect in the end.
