COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Denne imperial oatmeal stout er brygget med den vietnamesiske kaffesort Ca Pe Chon, som er en af verdens dyreste kaffesorter. Ca Pe Chon kaffen er lavet af afføringen fra væseldyr. De sydøstasiatiske dyr spiser kun de bedste og mest modne kaffebønner. Enzymer i deres fordøjelsessystem hjælper til at nedbryde bønnerne. Herefter indsamles afføringen som indeholder de hele bønner og bruges til væselkaffen. Kaffen har en kraftig smag og en endnu kraftigere aroma. Nogle mener endda, at kaffen øger sexlysten!

8.5oz bottle. I bought this bottle and the cognac edition about a year ago. Been wanting to try the base beer before having the barrel editions, but haven’t been able to find it, and I’m done waiting. I just feel like 8.5oz of super-exotic beer right now. Pours pitch black. Good thin brown head. Great lace. Big body. Awesome chewy texture. Very light carbonation. Kind of creamy. No viscosity. Great texture. Rich butterscotch coffee chocolate nose. Kind of decadent, but not too intense of a smell. Coffee isn’t explosive like I’d expect from weasel poop - it’s definitely noticeable, and very enjoyable. But it’s in check, for me. Roasty malts. Oatmeal flavors. Nice big bitter taste. Alcohol just slightly detectable, but not at all bothersome. Nice influences from what I assume is the calvados barrel here... Little bit of woody taste, with some subtle apple, nutsin the flavor, as well as the significant butterscotch. Not mind-blowing, but very agreeable, smooth, complex and well-blended. $13 for this tiny little bottle hurts, but somehow it’s worth tasting once. Really enjoyable to sip on slowly, especially late at night after a big dinner when even 12oz seems like too much. Would probably have been even better in the morning, though..

Black beer with a brief and small dark brown mocha head. I can’t quite get anything to describe the aroma directly, roastiness, dark hint of sweetness, apples. Body is medium to full. Mouth feel is oily. Burnt caramel and coffee roastiness, a hint of syrup. Bitterness slowly builds up in the after taste and fades away quite elegantly.

Oil black pour with a brown head. Aroma is thick dark chocolate, roasted coffee, dark malt, a bit boozy. Flavor is more of the same. Creamy dark chocolate, just the right amount of bitterness and roast from the coffee. The Calvados adds a really excellent layer of complexity and depth. Amazing beer.

Bottle thanks to Theis! Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has combination of strong roasted malt and coffee with a strong boozy calvados backing. Flavor starts with booze and dark chocolate with a thick roast and coffee finish.

Smells of alcohol an burnt, sweet malt. Pours pitch black with brown head that quickly disappear. Sharp taste of alcohol but also coffe, burnt malt and sweetness. Nice mouthfeel. Very good and very interesting beer!

Black liquid. Tan small head. Coffee, apples and alcohol in the nose. Taste is very different from the smell. -Alot- of chocolate, with coffee and vanilla. You can definately feel the calvadosbarrels in there. Some fruityness and alcohol toward the finish.

Poured from bottle, 2011 vintage. Pours dark molasses with nice dark tan head that dwindles to a nice thin head and maintains. Aroma is full of coffee, roasted malt, bourbon, and chocolate. Tastes of chocolate with a nice bitter coffee finish. Not too prominent of a bourbon note but present nonetheless. Mouthfeel is spot on with a light burn in the throat.

A - Dark black with a bit of brown with a finger of frothy chocolate-khaki colored head. Fades normal. S - Dark chocolate, roasted coffee, oak, apple brandy, molasses, black licorice, caramel malts, milk chocolate, some booze. T - Dark chocolate, roasted coffee, oak, apple brandy, earthy hops and some bitterness, black licorice, molasses, caramel malts, milk chocolate and vanilla, some booze. M - Full-minus bodied with mild carbonation. Super smooth with a sweet, roasted, and warming finish. D - Really nice balance. Great complexity added by the calvados barrel aging.

Bottle acquired at the Pizza Port bottle shop. Onyx pour with dark mahogany edges and a tightly packed but whispy latte head. Rich mocha, java, espresso, Starbucks, and vanilla rise from the glass and invade the nose. Raisins, plum, more fruity pear and wood are present as well. The flavor is abundant and reminiscent of chocolate covered Kona coffee beans I had in Hawaii. Still not as eye-popping as I remembered the non-BA version. Delicious and glad I had a chance to try.
