Nogle mener endda, at kaffen øger sexlysten!

25cl bottle at CPK, London. Pours clear deep black, with a very small brown head that dissipates fairly quickly with some lacing. Aroma is strong with notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and wine. Taste is very strong roasted malt and wine, notes of coffee and chocolate but less strong than in the cognac edition. The calvados barrels have clearly made a significant impact on this beer. Finish is warming from the alcohol and minorly bitter from the coffee notes.

Delt 0,25 l flaske. Svart kropp med et brun film. Fataromaen dominerer nesa. Skikkelig boozy. Søt og røstet. Flat, kraftig og myk.

Pretty strong stuff. Color was very black and foreboding. Palate was thick and oily. Aroma was burnt malt, whiskey and oak. Flavors were roasted malt, wood, whiskey and hops for balance. A sipper and not for everyone.

Pitch black, tan dissipating head. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, booze, light apple, calvados, red fruits, cherry, pear, lots of coffee. Creamy, boozy flavour, sweet caramel, smooth mocha, cacao. Quite thick and creamy. Finish coffee, malts, apple, calvados, lingering liquorice. Smooth, drinkable, yet intense. Brilliant!

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 3 Oct 2014) Black colour with brief head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, cacao, liquorice, oak wood and mild hints of calvados. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, liquorice, salmiak, cacao, soy sauce, oak wood and gentle flavours of calvados. Full body, with a touch of sweetness, but actually drier than expected. Generous coffee bitterness. Exceptionally well balanced, with the calvados barrel evident but never becoming too much. Lovely beer!
