Nogle mener endda, at kaffen øger sexlysten!
En Imperial Oatmeal Stout brygget på: Vand, malt, humle, gær og vietnamesisk ca phe chon kaffe. Lagret på cognac tønder.

English: The recipe for this beer is as simple as a child’s finger painting: you take one of the world’s highest rated beers – that’s the one called Brunch – and then you let it splash about in a totally fresh cognac barrel for three months. After that it’s a question of out of the barrel, into a bottle and off you go.

8.5 oz. bottle. Pours like dark ink with only a slight ring around the glass. Aroma is cognac, black licorice, and sweet coffee. Taste is cognac and raisins up front that transitions into roast and coffee of outstanding quality. Thick and oily on the palate leading to a bitter chocolatey finish

Another Greek brunch from krompt, that weasel. He tried too convince me it wasn’t that good and the standard brunch weasel was better. He is a liar, don’t trust him. I’ve never had cognac but this makes me very interested in trying it because it works well for this beer.

Pours an opaque black with little head and great legs up the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, cognac, coffee, light oak and vanilla and a gentle sweet candy aroma. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, sweet cognac, oaky vanilla, coffee and a complex and well balanced alcohol warmth and bitterness on the finish. Cognac also makes the finish dryish and makes this beer great to sip on.

Bottle @ GT’s Cat Cabana. Thanks to Derek for this one. Black pour with a small tan head, if anything. Soy sauce, vanilla, smoke, and lots of oak. Plenty of roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, and a nice touch of brandy. Flavor is much better. Really nice sweetness of vanilla and brandy. Oak, roast, and dark chocolate. Subtle bitterness of roast and coffee. Smooth, lowly carbonated. Slightly smokey. Pretty nice.

Backlog bottle thanks to so many good ratebeerians. The smell is great, wood, cognac, nice alcohol, and could keep smelling for a while. The look is dark brown in color with a tan head. The taste is alcohol, dark, wood, and cognac.

Aroma hides the alcohol content with a nosefull of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and dates. Really had to work the glass while pouring to get a small amount of head which disappeared quickly. Nice cacao finish adds wonderful bitterness which cuts the sweetness of the barrel. Big chewy, sticky mouthfeel. Best tasting beer I have ever had, can’t wait to get some more Mikkeller.

11/15/12 $13.99 bottle received in a trade drank on a Friday night before 1st resident interview day. Anyway... Pours jet black with zero head. Smell is very boozy with subdued dark roasted smells. Taste is boozy at first and then you get to the stout. Dark bitter chocolate dark roasted coffee. Finish is bitter almost a numbing quality. The mouthfeel is exceptional very thick and chewy. As it warmed it got more complex. Wonderful exceptional beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

• The beer pours a pitch black color. The head is dark brown and less than one finger. It turns into a tan ring around the glass. Big aroma. Lots of fruity esters, some dark fruits, but also some vinous notes. Sweet alcohol notes mixed with oak, definite bitter chocolate/coffee notes pulling at you as well. Wow! Huge flavors! Massively complex! The beer enters your palate very softly with faint cognac notes and a vinous fruitiness along with some oak. As it moves to the middle of the palate, it explodes with a carbonation burst that unleashes the most amazing combination of semi sweet/dark bitter chocolate flavor mixed with slightly bitter coffee. As it finishes, the chocolate takes a back seat to the pleasantly bitter kopi lua coffee which rolls the alcohol burn down into your belly, and you exhale cognac. WOW! The body is medium to medium full. Very velvety in the mouth. Leaves tremendous legs down the glass.
