4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle I picked up in 2012. Dark, dark, dark brown, minimal head. Aroma somewhat subdued, considering. Taste is explosive, sweet, dark, chocolate, and intense but not roasty coffee, vanilla and marshmallow, a sort of chocolate milk creaminess. Really smooth, barely any burning.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
330 ml bottle with silver waxed top - only the silver wax identifies the beer, the label is the same as for the "normal" Beer Geek Brunch Weasel (confirmed by the brewery). Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, moderate to low brown head. Lovely and complex aroma, beguiling coffee notes blends in with liquorice, vanilla, dark chocolate, oak and cognac. Rich mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Rich and delightful flavour, medium sweet, not cloying, smooth roast malts and coffee notes with cognac, dark chocolate, vanilla and oak. Jolly good!

dark brown, minimal head. Aroma somewhat subdued, considering. Taste is explosive, sweet, dark, chocolate, and intense but not roasty coffee, vanilla and marshmallow, but the Whiskey Cask edition is better than this.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Some superlatives apply to this beer. One of the darkest I’ve had, and definetely the darkest brown head I’ve seen, though it doesn’t last long. The texture is, if not the thickest, then the most velvety and creamy mouthfeel I’ve had. Aroma starts off as pure coffee, with the cognac taking a while to sneak through, though it is pleasant when it arrives. Dark chocolate and black fruits with some toasty malts in the mouth. The booze is present but submerged, not under cloying sweetness but under a weight of chocolate.
