COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nogle mener endda, at kaffen øger sexlysten!
En Imperial Oatmeal Stout brygget på: Vand, malt, humle, gær og vietnamesisk ca phe chon kaffe. Lagret på cognac tønder.

English: The recipe for this beer is as simple as a child’s finger painting: you take one of the world’s highest rated beers – that’s the one called Brunch – and then you let it splash about in a totally fresh cognac barrel for three months. After that it’s a question of out of the barrel, into a bottle and off you go.

dark brown, minimal head. Aroma somewhat subdued, considering. Taste is explosive, sweet, dark, chocolate, and intense but not roasty coffee, vanilla and marshmallow, but the Whiskey Cask edition is better than this.

very dark, almost black colour, huge, dense dark brown head; aroma of chocolate, roasted coffee, woody and vanilla notes, and some spicy alcohol; taste of roasted bitterness of coffee, some syrupy sweetness which is more and more intensive as it warms up, woody, vanilla and herbal notes, hints of dark chocolate, maybe some cognac; oily texture; really amzing!

250ml bottle at home. This is the "old" version, bought it in 2013 from Mikkeller and Frinds bottle shop. Black color with nice brown head. Roasted malty aroma, coffee, chocolate, cookies, spicy -cinnamon, wood, alcohol. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma, dark chocolate and coffee, cookies, brownie, light spicy, wood and alcohol. Medium to full oily body with soft carbonation.

Some superlatives apply to this beer. One of the darkest I’ve had, and definetely the darkest brown head I’ve seen, though it doesn’t last long. The texture is, if not the thickest, then the most velvety and creamy mouthfeel I’ve had. Aroma starts off as pure coffee, with the cognac taking a while to sneak through, though it is pleasant when it arrives. Dark chocolate and black fruits with some toasty malts in the mouth. The booze is present but submerged, not under cloying sweetness but under a weight of chocolate.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; deep opaque black pour with a big dark tan head, quite a big cognac aroma with some sweet chocolate and roast, taste has smooth chocolate, vanilla, some coffee, cognac not as big in the taste as the aroma but there, dark fruit, very good.

Bottle @ THLBBT May. Pours a pitch black beer with a decent amount of brown head. Aroma is boozy, roasty, touches of cognac but not much. Flavor is very alcoholic and strong a bit out of balance, some coffee in there, base beer has faded behind a strong alcoholic front, most likely done by the cognac. Aftertaste is strong and sweet as well. Meh, not the greatest.

Bottle shared. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of overpowering cognac booziness upfront with caramel, licorice, dark chocolate and coffee subdued behind. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation. The cognac didn’t work so well with this, too boozy and detracting from the excellent base beer.

Bottle. Black with a medium sized dark brown head. Smells real nice; wood, pepper, vanilla, fudge. Soft and filling mouthfeel with warming and light stinging alcohol. Pleasantly sweet with balancing bitterness, some acidity too. Rich flavor with oak, salty licorice, light minerals, roasted malt, figs, vanilla, coffee, dark chocolate. Malty finish that slowly fades. Good, real good.
