Bottle@Home. Aroma of peat with some chocolate and coffee. Ebony coloured, clear, brown head, fair lace. Sweet, light sourish, light bitter start but very bitter finish. Loads of peat, chocolate, coffee, licorice. Medium body. Nice but not exceptional.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg at BD Camden, 21/03/15.
Pitch black with a decent amount of tan swirl that assumes the shape of a pelican!
Nose is light peated tones, treacle toffee, charr, dark fruit rinds, vanilla, bitter chocolate.
Taste comprises peated malts, dark chocoalte, smoke, wooded rinse, TCP but not too overbearing, spice, tar, herbal notes, liquorice.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, lightly warming alcohol in a peated smokey close.
Decent enough peated BA offering, not too intense.

Keg at BD Camden - London. Pours oily black-brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has restrained peat, chocolate, subtle dark fruits. Medium to big sweet acor, some tar, sticky peat, bitter chocolate, burnt wood, moss, earth. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, some sticky burnt sugars, more peat, toasted moss, dark sugars, figs. Good peat expression. Quite nice.

Opaque black beer, thick chocolate brown head. Smoky woody nose. Smooth soft palate. Rich stout with in yer face smoky whisky. On the back end there are touches of chocolate, hops and creamy malt. The base beer is a fine beer but this barrel treatment kinda drowns it. Interesting though.

Been there and done that with Islay whiskeys, so peaty character in this one wasnt nothing extraordinary, thou very pleasant and interesting. Roasted malts, peat, some smoked qualities, some coffee, lovely choco, licorice. Light carbonation highlights sweetness, thou theres moderate roasted bitterness as well.
Lovely and interesting brew, but one timer

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Darkest brown, sift of brown film and decent ringed filmy head. Hot smoky, sticky plaster and twisted dates for nose. Initial taste is lean stewed berry and earthy bark before a sweet but soft iodine buzz. Firmer viscosity than the others and a sweeter, grittier finish and lean TCP linger.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Interesting BA version with notable touch of leather, viskey, herbal. Weird visky alike flavor with herbal bitter from not hops, peated malt complexity. Thick, sirupy sweet, huge maltiness, dark balsamy-caramely, creamy backbone with deep, gentle but persistent roast flavor. Pleasant sipping brew with "not used to" finish, compared with burbon edition this one is one or two points less.
