4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
2009 bottle (0,5 L)! Pours lovely grown-up black with a thick, dark fluffy head. The aroma first of all has an incredible round smoke to it. Deep, roasted malty notes, coffee, slight salt and massive licorice.
Wow! Taste is much more smoked than expected! Not over the top by any means, but a strong, round, smoke with caramel-vanilla on the flippin BBQ.. Ends off with with some dark, bitter coffee notes.
Very full bodied and round body. A rare case of extremely well incorporated smoke! i might be wrong, but i think it owe some of its balance to the 5 years of aging.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to Henrik. Black coloured, has a little light brown head. Aroma of alcohol and malts and light peated smoke. Flavor is heavy complex, starts sweet, some malty-peated notes, not medicine but something like it, bitter laqurice, light warming alcohol. Coffee? Perhaps. Creamy, dry texture.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a insanely jet black color, the darkest beer I’ve ever seen, with a small brown head. A sweet nose of cocoa, smoke and vanilla. The flavor is super rich but balanced between smoky whiskey and big dark fruit, loads of heat, molasses, some brown sugar, astringency. Good overall. The barrel will be a lot for most people. The smoky bitter astringency with the heat is a bit rough, but this is a solid brew.
