Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

bottle. had to drink this on fathers day... as a father of 2 kids in diapers - the theme just seemed to fit... but with that out of the way... this is right up there as one of the best coffee beers I’ve had... pours a solid black with a huge 3 finger rocky tan head... big ass coffee aromas pour out of the bottle and the glass upon pouring... after the beer settles a bit there is a nice quarter inch tan head throughout... more coffee aromas, some licorice, a touch of chocolate and some big roasted malts... medium to big body with some licorice up front and a really smooth coffee laced mouthfeel throughout... huge roasted coffee finish... the alcohol really doesn’t show up and is well balanced... overall I really enjoyed this beer and definitely feel it outshines the regular beer geek brunch... its a bigger, meaner and more robust stout... pricey but worth every penny.

From bottle at Olympen. Almost black with a huge, bubbling, light brown head with big bubbles. (This beer is alive and I do not want to speculate why). Potent, acidic, roasted coffee with hints of chocolate and even sour fruit. Deeply roasted coffee and chocolate flavours. Rich, complex fruit towards the end with a distinct bitterness. Full-bodied and smooth. A wonderful beer and very unique. No shit at all.

Poured black oily with large dark coffee head. Aroma: sweet malty/roast but so much robustness that it feels a shame to leave it just at that. Flavor: oh so smooth and mimics the aroma very well, soo good and not super creamy so it doesn’t overwhelm the senses or the belly. Yum.

Bottle. Very dark brown pour, with a small light brown head. Roasted, Coffee and chocolate aromas. Taste is pretty straight forward, roast malt, coffee, bitter coffee and dark chocolates. Just an accent of rolled oats. Some piney hops in the bitters in the middle and finish, but only a little. Soft bubbly, but very solid mouthfeel. Maybe a little better than the breakfast, but not much.

Bottle courtesy of Pimpp. Aroma has notes of red wine, dark dried fruits, coffee, and resin hops. Black hue with small brown head that mostly diminished and left no lace. Flavor is sweet and finishes bitter. Palate is full bodied and oily soft. Not bad for weasel shit. Good robust roasted impy. Nice and unique.

Thanks to Gypsy19 for sharing! ~Pours black with firm brown foamy head that last. ~Metallic scent, sweet, wispy, roasted coffee, and molasses. A little on the lighter side. ~Rich chocolate malts and coffee flavor. Sweet, but nicely balanced with coffee bitterness and dark chocolate. ~Mello creamy feel. Nice bitter sweet finish. ~Lacks in scent, but makes up in everything else. Very memorable brew. Well done Mikkeller and thank you!

Pour is ultra dark brown, bordering on black with a brown head that was thick and a bit persistent. The aroma was well done. Rich, roasted coffee dominates with lighter hints at chocolate and licorice. The flavor is a nice balance of roasted coffee beans and chocolate. The coffee didn’t taste burnt and the chocolate didn’t taste artificial. The mouthfeel was medium bodied and easy drinking. Just a small hint of warming alcohol that was quite at home right at the end of the palate. Very nice.
