Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Pour from a bottle is dark chocolate with a dark tan head. Aroma is a sweet aroma with hints of chocolate and a little coffee. Taste is a little sweet that gives way to a little bitterness from the coffee. Leaves a dry after taste.

(On tap at Mikkeller Bar Stockholm, Nov 16 2014) Pours inky black with a small dark tan head that faded to a ring with a bit of lace. Aroma is powerfully strong, pungent coffee, rich dark bittersweet chocolate, sweetish dark malts with hints of dark fruit, a bit spicy. Flavour is as you’d expect after the nose, excellent. Rich, driven by big fairly roasty coffee, dark chocolate core, a little sweet, rather earthy, hints of dark, getting slightly bitter towards the finish with loads of coffee, vanilla, bit of that creamy oat character, moderately roasty. Lingering coffee that seems to last on and on, with persistent chocolate as well. Rich, full creamy mouthfeel, thick from the oats, light carb, no alcohol. Superb coffee imperial stout, the ca phe chon really adds something with its pungency and slightly unusual flavour profile. So drinkable, with layers that I know would reward a sampling on its own rather than in a night of beers. Must drink.

En flott stout! Snublet over denne på polet, og det var den siste flasken de hadde. Et særdeles heldig funn. Anbefales på det sterkeste!

Strong fresh coffee beans aroma. Jet black in colour with a rapidly disappearing head. Very strong black coffee flavour with malty notes. A touch of bitterness in the finish.

Nice stout with a strange story, look up civecat. Bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours deep black with a tan head. Aromas of fresh roasted coffee with flavors of black coffee, toasted oats, and dark fruits. Semi oily body, low carbonation and bitter finish. Paired with a bourbon ball.

Ottima imperial stout con note principalmente di caffè che emergono. Un’ottima alternativa al caffè dopo cena !!! Non proprio l’ideale per un brunch però !!!
