Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at NÝgne ō, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the worldís most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Had this RIGHT after the beer geek breakfast. Of course it has the same great mouthfeel and slightly sweet maltiness, but the aroma is the most noticable improvement and Iím very impressed with depth the civet poop adds ti the overall character. A VERY good beer. One of the best Iíve had in a while.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance had a dark brown close to black color with no head nor lacing. The smell was fabulous with an almost perfect combination of roasted coffee bean to a light milk chocolate and also a decent dark chocolate. The taste was sweet and roasty pulling together rich roasty coffee notes into milk and dark chocolates finely. A light dry chocolate aftertaste leads to a slightly dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a good sipping quality about it. Alcohol really isnít felt, and the carbonation is fairly smooth. Overall, imperialized oatmeal stout, if anything, well, the aroma and the taste are absolutely enthralling. Pretty sure I just love it for what it is and not necessarily for the style since honestly thereís no such thing as an imperialized oatmeal stout.

Paid nearly $10.00 for this 11.2 oz bottle at 7/11 Kittery ME. Well, it does live up to the hype and price, canít believe it took me this long to try this! Aroma is real nice; deep roast, burnt espresso bean, earthy soil like note and unsweetened chocolate.

The flavor has a nice amount of depth. It changes after some slow sips. Earthy coffee throughout, thick chewy oats that gives a hearty full body. The texture is dry roast with the alcohol letting you know it is here with a warming after the sip. Mild dark fruit hints. The roast, coffee, dark fruit and chocolate lingering for a good amount after the sip. Very savory and great, maybe just a tad overpriced because of the coffee beans.

Bottle. So good Iíve got a cupboard full of them. Pours a perfect engine oil black with a bronze head. Aroma hums of coffee and roasted malt. So much flavour. Itís a big stout. Coffee, chocolate, charcoal and vanilla. Itís thick, boozy and incredibly complex. You couldnít tire of it.

Feline shit beer... interesting... pours almost pitch black, very thick and oily, barely any bubbles, just a thin ring of beige around the glass. Aromas of espresso, dark chocolate, nuts, cocoa, fudge, oats, perhaps a touch of cognac. The complexity and richness of this one is exceptional. Itís like a chocolate brownie soaked in cognac-spiked coffee, but also with a lot of depth and other smaller aromas lurking behind it. Itís medium sweet and bitter, well balanced without overwhelming any of the full flavour. Booze is barely noticeable. Full body; rounded, smooth, slick feel; long tasty finish. This is one of the very best.

On tap at Stoutfest during Seattle Beer Week. Everything about it was very impressive. Deep, rich and complex. Hint of tart but no fruit to speak of. Usually the coffee flavor in stouts is pretty basic but it was clear this coffee is different.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Poured into a Duvel tulip. Pours a deep black with slight ruby highlights. Big coffee aroma with a huge chocolate fudge brownie aroma as well with a touch of dark fruit. Medium to full body with a mouthfeel somewhere between creamy and sticky. Sweet on the palate then ends a little boozy. Great big imperial stout with lots of flavor that picks up as it warms up to room temperature. Nice rich and smooth finish. A killer!

Bottle to tulip. Pours pitch black with a brownish-red head. Great laces. This beer smells like a chocolate factory. Lots of coffee and little bit of a leather smell. Plenty of wonderful booze notes as well. Definitely a bit of sweetness here. A bit bitter. Lots of wonderful chocolate and coffee notes. The beer tastes just like a chocolate malt with bourbon in it. Damn this is good. A sticky, deliciously bitter finish. Ill be heading back to the bottle shop to pick up lots more of this. Cheers.

Awesome beer for folks who like boozy beers. Chocolate, roast, sweetness, and coffee shine big in this beer. Lots of alcohol notes, but in a good way. Reminds me of a whiskey barrel aged imperial stout due to its roundness and sweetness, despite the high level of alcohol. Iíd love to try the barrel aged versions.
