Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Been holding out on opening this for a while, so I decided to share it for Monday night’s #CraftBeerChat on Twitter. body is an opaque black, with a thick foamy/rocky tall burnt umber colored head. the aroma is nothing short of fantastic, mildly roasted coffee, dark chocolate bars, roasty malts, a little vanilla, mild licorice candy. Flavor is a wee salty, with nice bitter earthy roasted/burnt coffee malt, some anise/licorice liqueur flavor, and dry high cacao% chocolate. a little charred oak and blackstrap molasses in the finish, with some mild leafy bitter hop and coffee aftertatse. great brew, lives up to the hype. Special thanks to my twitter friends to share the review in real-time! @jimbinder @ChicagoDiane @arikhanson @steveschoon @jeffmello #CraftBeerChat

Pitch black color with medium brown foam. The smell has a lot of roasted coffee. The taste is ultra smooth, sweet, coffeeish with a high viscosity and a lot of bitter dark chocolate. The aftertaste is smooth as gargling silk that has been soaked in chocolate cream. This beer is just awesome, and I don’t like coffee.

APPEARANCE ? perfectly black with dark caramel colored head. NOSE ? absolutely the most coffee smelling beer I?ve ever had. FLAVOR ? for all the great nose, it comes up weak in the flavor arena. NOTES ? Shigadeyo rates this in 2009, and had a much better review. I?m surprised that the beer has changed so significantly over the years.

Doskonałe piwo do analizy jak temperatura wpływa nie postrzeganie genialności piwa. Można rozpocząć zbyt nisko i nie zorientować się że te sztuczne smaki w nim kiedyś się rozwiną i powalą.

Aroma: picking up a lot of coffee, some licorice, vanilla and smoke (like in smoked meat). Smooth mouth feel! Taste: coffee, burned meat, vanilla and coffee. Quite bitter, seems to sweeten when temperature rise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Small bottle, deep black beer, almost purple deep brown head faded to nothing. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, roasted barley, dark fruits. Taste is sweet coffee, vanillas, dried plum, molasses and burnt sugar. Palate is thick and rich, carbonation subdued. This is good, rich and roasty, but too sweet overall.
