COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nřgne Ř, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Bottle 500 ml. Pitch black with a medium fully diminishing brown head. Aroma of bitter chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits and slight vanilla notes. Taste of coffee, roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy but leaves the palate dry (roasted bitterness). Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Very good beer but still a bit under my expectation (who where pretty high). I think I will need to re-taste.

Pours a solid inky black (without even a hint of colour round the margins) with two fingers of dense chocolate brown head diminishing gradually to a half finger cap, moderate lacing. Nose is dark roasted coffee and dark chocolate, with a hint of café latte milkiness and maybe some dark fruit. Taste is dark roasted malt, rich coffee, perhaps a hint of liquorice and only a very mild, very late bitterness. Full bodied and viscous, with mild sustained carbonation and a smooth finish. Wow. I didn’t realize before tasting this, that the titular “weasel” was the civet cat, and that this is basically made with kopi leuwak. And it shows - there’s no bitterness or astringency from the coffee at all. In fact, there’s very little bitterness at all, despite the rich coffee flavour. I keep waiting for the bitterness to hit, and it just doesn’t. The bitterness is not the only thing that’s conspicuously absent here, either: the ABV is utterly and completely missing. This thing is nearly 11%, and it drinks like a cup of coffee. One could get in a great deal of trouble with this exceedingly dangerous beer... were it not roughly as expensive as unicorn blood - or, given the colour, printer cartridge ink...

Has a little age on it, still doing great. Poured black with a light brown head. Has a really nice, solid hoppiness, great balance to the coffee and chocolate. Super smooth bigger medium body. Fantastic coffee and chocolate aroma. Delicious.

Rich and delicious, creamy, roasty, slightly dry and bitter finish. Grass, bittersweet coffee, complex, interesting.

Oily dark brown body with small tan head. Strong coffee aroma, cocoa beans, dark fruits, a bit smoked, roasty, peppery, you can sense some alcohol. Medium to full body. Soft carbonation. Pretty good.

Bottled 330ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Oily deep black coloured, small brown head that went away fast, pure coffee nose. Roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate with notes of alcohol and cocoa powder. Coffee finish of course. Smooth and easy-drinkable.

Color is completely dark. Huge brown head. Looks delicious. Strong coffee, cocoa and roasted malts aroma. Coffee notes seemed a little bit unordinary, now i see it’s a coffee from Vietnam. Some sugar. Alcohol is noticeable only in aroma, but not in taste. Full body, soft carbonation, creamy and oily texture. Almost spectacular.

Bottle, 330 ml, brewed at Lervig Aktiebryggeri. Pitch black with creamy brown head. Very rich and pleasant taste, mainly of coffee. One of my new favourite beers.

Deep, thick body with an amazing dark, creamy head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate; alcohol maybe too present, imho. Strong palate, definitely worfh of its style; low carbonation but impressive, complex and long lasting finish. Taste is coffee, chocolate; outmeal also present, as dark fruits and smoke.

Megjelenés tekintetében a szokásos imperial stout tulajdonságokat eleveníti meg, motorolajszerű sűrűség, éjfekete szín és kakaó barna hab tökéletes egyvelege alkotja kinézetét. Illata száraz faháncs és falevelek, különleges fűszerezésű, édesített kávé aromája, az utóbbi összetevő jelenléte tehát különösebb szakértelem nélkül is könnyűszerrel megállapítható - ízének selymes, olvadékony és szikrázóan intenzív, pikáns bevezetője, majd szénné égetett cukorkás, keserédes, fás, és kávészemekkel körbeszőtt jegyei azonban önmagukban nem igazolják kellőképpen a felhasznált alapanyag exkluzív jellegét. Szakavatott kávéfogyasztók valószínűleg elismerően csettintenének a cibetmacska névjegyének felbukkanása láttán, a sör-ínyencek azonban minden bizonnyal egy fajsúlyos, különleges és semmihez nem fogható sör körvonalait vélik felfedezni fogyasztása során, aminek minden egyes fázisa egy gasztronómiai élmény, legyen szó a karcosan megkapó illatokról, vagy éppen a megnyerően induló, szigorúvá fejlődő és mégis tökéletesen kerek, masszív ízélményről.

This is one tasty beer! It has a strong chocolate oatmeal flavor to it and a coffee after taste.
