Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Pours an opaque black from the bottle with nice ring of lacy tan brown head that sticks nicely. Aroma is boozy chocolate up front, nice mild coffee in the middle, comes out more as it warms. Taste follows, faint chocolate but lots of the coffee, great mild roast, hint of earthy smoke. Thick and viscous, bitter coffee finish. Great stuff.

Bottle. I’m not usually an imperial drinker. This big beer with 10.9%ABV is a great coffee beer. The alcohol is not overpowering but a warming end.

This is simply one of the best stouts that I had. Great mouth feel, rich taste and strong coffee flavor without being bitter or dry. Alkohol is strong but well contained and it fits well. What a beer.

Cholernie przyjemne. Oleista konsystencja wyborna do tego stylu i do tego alkohol odczuwalny - ale jak na 11% to dobrze przykryty smakiem dominującym. Jedno z najlepszych i najstaranniej uwarzonych piw. Polecam.

Bottle. Black as night and with little carbonation. Aromas of instant coffee, tar, rubber, alcohol. The taste is almost overpowering; strong coffee dominates an intensely rich blend - or should I say roast? A treat!

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2014 Bottle shared with Vestergaard. Pours pitch thick black with tiny brown head. Aroma is fruity coffee berries. Citric espresso, dark chocolate and burnt figs. Taste is really balanced. Dark chocolate, vanilla. awesome mouthfeel and the smooth carbonation spreads all the flavor. Really creamy body, bit sugary. So much rich chocolate. Roasty coffee finish. Well composed.

500ml bottle served in a snifter glass. A: Pours a deep black color and forms medium and an incredibly dark beige to brown head. Retention is low but leaves a lot thin lacings and a small layer lasts for long S: Throws off a bouquet of coffee, dark chocolate and Cognac. Roasted malts, earthy hops and yeasts T: Follows the nose. Very intense beer. Strong on roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Bit sweet upfront followed by an intense earthy, hoppy bitterness M: Absolutely creamy, heavy and molasses body. A dirty beer. Medium to low carbonation. Roasty bitter aftertaste is pure pleasure O: Fantastic beer. Very drinkable. Perfect imperial stout [ BA Review @ 4/9/2012 ]

Bottle. Jet black pour with a dark tan head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malts, molasses, and cocoa. Flavor is big coffee and roasted malts with chocolate undertones. Very robust. One of the best impy stouts I’ve had to date. This was just fantastic.

This is THE BEST Imperial Stout I’ve drunk so far. Extremely aromatic, marvelously tasting. Coffee, black malts, hops. Everything on right place. Perfection!

Very dark, smells slightly roasted with a hint of alcohol. Taste is mildly burned with nice coffee and chocolate notes. Surprisingly unbitter. Very nice.
