COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nřgne Ř, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Pours BLACK with a super thick brown head that doesn’t last. Subtle roasted aroma, with a bit of tang. Flavor is less coffee than expected, but I guess that because the coffee has already been digested. Great bitter sweet, somewhat boozy stout.

Bottle, 330 ml, brewed at Lervig Aktiebryggeri. Pitch black with creamy brown head. Very rich and pleasant taste, mainly of coffee. One of my new favourite beers.

Deep, thick body with an amazing dark, creamy head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate; alcohol maybe too present, imho. Strong palate, definitely worfh of its style; low carbonation but impressive, complex and long lasting finish. Taste is coffee, chocolate; outmeal also present, as dark fruits and smoke.

Megjelenés tekintetében a szokásos imperial stout tulajdonságokat eleveníti meg, motorolajszerű sűrűség, éjfekete szín és kakaó barna hab tökéletes egyvelege alkotja kinézetét. Illata száraz faháncs és falevelek, különleges fűszerezésű, édesített kávé aromája, az utóbbi összetevő jelenléte tehát különösebb szakértelem nélkül is könnyűszerrel megállapítható - ízének selymes, olvadékony és szikrázóan intenzív, pikáns bevezetője, majd szénné égetett cukorkás, keserédes, fás, és kávészemekkel körbeszőtt jegyei azonban önmagukban nem igazolják kellőképpen a felhasznált alapanyag exkluzív jellegét. Szakavatott kávéfogyasztók valószínűleg elismerően csettintenének a cibetmacska névjegyének felbukkanása láttán, a sör-ínyencek azonban minden bizonnyal egy fajsúlyos, különleges és semmihez nem fogható sör körvonalait vélik felfedezni fogyasztása során, aminek minden egyes fázisa egy gasztronómiai élmény, legyen szó a karcosan megkapó illatokról, vagy éppen a megnyerően induló, szigorúvá fejlődő és mégis tökéletesen kerek, masszív ízélményről.

This is one tasty beer! It has a strong chocolate oatmeal flavor to it and a coffee after taste.

Bottle, 330 ml. Pours jet black with no head whatsoever. Aroma absolutely dominated by strong, black coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts, with perhaps a little hint of caramel underneath all of this. Taste is notably more complex, with all flavours mentioned above finding themselves joined by a good deal more caramel, some significant dark fruity notes as well as others such as strawberry, cereal, honey and vanilla. No alcohol detectable until the warmth kicks in Sweetness of the chocolate, fruity notes are balanced out brilliantly by the bitterness of the coffee and the roasted malts, and the whole thing just tastes incredibly rich and complex, to the point where I could probably pick out yet more flavours on future tastings. An absolute joy on the palate too, being as thick and oily as the pitch black colour would suggest, and yet somehow with just the tiniest bit of carbonation (unless I’m imagining things). Just superb stuff all-round, and pretty much the perfect dessert beer.

Poured from a 341cc bottle. Shared with ML & JB. Pours opaque black/brown with a generous tan head. Aroma is expresso, dark chocolate, chile pepper, and burnt malts. Flavour is dark dried fruit, fig, molasses, dark malts, chocolate, and coffee.

Bottled. Pours absolutely pitch black. Tan head. Aroma is roasted coffee, chocolate, rich maltiness. Flavor is chocolate and big coffee. It is perhaps the most coffee flavor I’ve ever tasted in a beer. Very bitter coffee. Very good, but very intense.

500ml bottle. Black in colour, long lasting tan head, excellent lacing. Aroma is sweet, roasty, light alcohol, chocolate, espresso. Flavour starts of incredibly sweet, lots of Creme Brulee to start but that changes to a roasty - chocolate espresso bitterness. Sweet/bitter mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long sweet then bitter. This starts of really sweet, Creme Brulee sweet. That changes to an espresso bitterness for the rest of the time. As this warms it nears unbearable in terms of sweetness.

Bottle. Flown all the way from Copenhagen. Thanks muzz. Jet black, mocha coloured head that dissipates quickly. Medium lacing. Aromas of espresso, vanilla, dark chocolate, ever so slight whiff of smoke and some citrus. Rich espresso flavours up front, followed by citrus hop bitterness, coffee acidity, vanilla and big roasty finish with significant bitterness. The heavy alcohol is barely detectable. Perhaps a little hop forward through the middle for me, but a delicious, complex beer.
