Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nřgne Ř, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

500mL bottle from Perry’s Liquors for $17.99--that place is way too effing expensive--I don’t think I’ll go back. Clear deep deep mahogany--black in the glass--with a big ass tan head. Lots of roasted malts, coffee, and unsweetened cocoa up front in the aroma. There is also a light caramel/vanilla sweetness. Some tar and pine sap are behind. Was this supposed to be hoppy? Letting it warm up a little bit I can get the oatmeal and some dark chocolate. I go into these highly rated beers wanted to hate them, but damn, so far this is great. The flavor adds the right amount of alcohol and a little soy, but otherwise, much the same--there may be a little bit of smokiness, but I wouldn’t go as far to say campfire. The finish is semi-dry with bitterness at a 4. Big full slick body with light carbonation. Quite the tasty beer, but I don’t need to spend 20 bucks (with tax) on it again. My other bottle is coming back to Iowa.

Piwko na otwarcie mojej parapetówki. Długo czekałem na tę chwilę. W aromacie likier czekoladowo - kawowy (kolejność nieprzypadkowa) z dominującą kawą gdy wkładam nos do sniftera. W smaku kawa z czekoladą, w posmaku kawa z czekoladową goryczką. Likierowo słodkie, likierowo gęste. I ta puszysta gęstość właśnie łagodzi szczypiący nieco w język alkohol. Doskonale piwo. Rewelacyjne do powolnego sączenia jeżeli ktoś ma bardzo silną wolę (ja nie mam, przynajmniej nie w takich chwilach). No i ta kawa, której smak tak długo utrzymuje się ustach. Petarda! To piwo rzeczywiście zasługuje na 100 na 100.

OMG what a beer! The aroma is amazing, complex and somehow new! Flowery notes and strong notes of wet poppy seeds (reminding of Polish poppy seed xmas cake) together with dark, roasted malt notes. Great coffee and chocolate scents. Some tracing molasses. It blew my mind. The taste is rich and complex, full on the mouth. Very satisfying. Amazing beer. I want more!

Draught. Pitch black (almost) with small and beige head. Aroma is really great, dark chocolate, coffee, pralins, some vanilla. In taste lightly sweet, bitter like dark chocolate, roasty coffee, vanilla, pleasant booze. Full bodied, oily and think, very smooth with soft carbonation. Finish is lightly roasted and moderately bitter. Fantastic beer - liquid dessert.

Dark black, minimal head but who cares? Great dark chocolate aroma mixed with coffee and alcohol. Very sweet, moderate bitter with terrific coffee aftertaste. Everything wonderfuly composed in full body. Absolutely great beer.

Aromat cudowny, kawa i pralinki, takie konkretne z gorzkiej czekolady, likier kawowy, wanilia, karmel. Smak średnio słodki, lekko gorzki. W smaku pralinki i likier kawowy, nuta bardzo przyjemnego alkoholu. Posmak dosyć gorzki, lekko taniczny, mocno kawowy. Ciało wysokie, piwo oliste i wykleja miło, jest przyjemnie gładkie dzięki niskiemu wysyceniu.

Black pour, tan head, good lace/retention. Aroma is rich coffee with notes of roast, chocolate, caramel, hint of vanilla. Medium to full body, big coffee flavors balance well with the rest of the show. Really nice.

Piwo oleiste, przyjemnie wykleja podniebienie. Podsumowując, piwo świetne, zdecydowanie do długiej degustacji, pokazujące jak powinien pachnieć i smakować wybitny RIS.

Served at the Mikkeller Bar in San Francisco; very dark pour with caramel colored head. Aromas of Mexican chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cinnamon and toast are upfront. First taste is thick, creamy and silky smooth and confirms that this is a great beer; alcohol content is not obvious, very well balanced. Similar to Narwhal and Rasputin, that good.

Straight from the bright tank at Mikkeller San Diego back in May ’16 w/ Brian. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, licorice, vanilla, heaven. So smoooooth -- the alcohol is warming but doesn’t dominate the palate. Again, the flavours are so smooth, almost creamy in texture, with enough hops to allow everything else to shine without becoming overwhelming. This is near perfection for an imperial stout.
