COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway, now at Lervig, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

500mL bottle from Perry’s Liquors for $17.99--that place is way too effing expensive--I don’t think I’ll go back. Clear deep deep mahogany--black in the glass--with a big ass tan head. Lots of roasted malts, coffee, and unsweetened cocoa up front in the aroma. There is also a light caramel/vanilla sweetness. Some tar and pine sap are behind. Was this supposed to be hoppy? Letting it warm up a little bit I can get the oatmeal and some dark chocolate. I go into these highly rated beers wanted to hate them, but damn, so far this is great. The flavor adds the right amount of alcohol and a little soy, but otherwise, much the same--there may be a little bit of smokiness, but I wouldn’t go as far to say campfire. The finish is semi-dry with bitterness at a 4. Big full slick body with light carbonation. Quite the tasty beer, but I don’t need to spend 20 bucks (with tax) on it again. My other bottle is coming back to Iowa.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A pitch black beer with a big beige creamy head ; good retention ; good lacing. Roast, toast, light blackcurrant, balck chocolate (+), coffee, herb. Medium sweet, warming baseline ; medium to dry heavy bitter. Full body, light creamy texture, average to soft carbonation, light prickly on the tongue, chocolate dry lasting bitter finish. Overall, WoW !! Wonderful beer, such a powerful aromatic landscape, great bitter chocolate coffee adventure.

330ml bottle. Pours an opaque black with a medium, creamy, long lasting, chocolate brown head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, vanilla and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate, vanilla and warming alcohol with a dry, bitter, slightly hoppy finish. Medium to full body with a creamy smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. I’ve been dying to try this one for a while. It was well worth the wait. Delicious.

0.33 l bottle from ’Saveur Bière’, best before May 2025. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish, medium roasty and slightly fruity aroma of milk chocolate, coffee beans, vanilla, some caramel and hints of prunes. Sweetish, slightly roasty and minimally fruity taste of milk chocolate, coffee beans, vanilla, caramel, toasted nuts and some prunes, followed by a long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly warming-alcoholic finish. Full body, very smooth and creamy mouthfeel, almost flat. What a treat! Superbly balanced, unbelievably creamy and very tasty although not overly complex.

On tap at TCBW 2016. Bkack liquid. Beige head. Coffee and roasted sour coffee beans in the aroma. Nice sourness in my nose. Reminds sherry or port. Smooth coffee at first. Creamy palate. Really nice mouthfeel. Bready sourness and coffee beans in the middle. Coffee taste also in the end. Great balance. Very drinkable. Would say even medium bodied. Tasty.

Bottle kindly bought for me at the bierkonig in Amsterdam. Pours pitch black with huge brown head. Texture is oily, carbonation is a bit high, Nose is lots of rosted malt, coffee, custard and some faint liquorice. Taste is Boom coffee, alcoholic fancyness, lots of roasted malts.
