Dark brown color, small brownish head. Very nice cocoa, vanilla, toasted malty, sweetish aroma. Medium to full-bodied. Vanilla, alcohol, roasted maltyness. Sweetish bomb in the very tight package. Excellent brew!

Wow. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of coffee with a hint of vanilla. The taste was of coffee, vanilla with some bitterness and a nice smokey finish. Very tasty.

Bottle. Pitch black syrup/coffee concentrate like pour with a big mocha head. Vanilla, cough drop, coffee, syrup, cream, nori. Very big. Sweet and thick but with alcohol spiciness. Really nice but something is missing for this to be my top 10.

330ml bottle from Õllepood, Tallinn. BB 23.01.19

Black stuff with tan head. Sweetness, mild roastiness, vanilla, syrup, coffee, a bit harsh. Good but expected much more.

Pours dark with a creamy mocha foam head that laces my glass. The aroma has a lot of vanilla, notes of buttery toffee, mild coffee, and has a sweet sugary lactose scent. As I taste, I noticed a potent vanilla flavor with a nice milk sugar taste. There is a presence of oats and a nice mild roasted grain taste. The finish was rather flavorful and ended off having a good coffee and dark grain bitterness, with a pleasant warming booze. Overall a very good brew. It is drinkable, full in body, rich in flavor, and the alcohol is hidden rather well for 13 percent. I would have this again.

Shared bottle. Pours is dark with thick persistent brown head, leaves lacing. Sweet aroma of vanilla, cinnamon, light coffee, vanilla milk and some biscuits and caramel. Taste is complex, medium sweet, some hints of bittery, mix of vanilla, coffee, lot of dark chocolate, light spicy, ligt cinammon. Full body, soft carbonation, nice oily texture, dry and alcohol warming in finish. Love this beer, one of the best beers I ever head, impresive.

This is a sick beer! Pour a thick pitch black with a really small chocolate brown head. Seriously, I had the feeling that a was pouring oil. It is so incredibly thick and dense. It is without doubt the darkest beer I ever tasted. It is so black than even the flashlight won’t pass through. Seems like Gandalf is saying: "Light! You shall not pass!!" Now, lets get serious. The aroma is full of vanilla and reminds me of vanilla shake, cookies... The taste is sweet with lots of vanilla, dark chocolate and some coffee with notes of roasted malt and oats. Very thick, dense and creamy on palate. Overall: This is a beer only for real geeks. It is a huge, dense, thick 13% ABV imperial stout without mercy for beginners or rookies. This brew hits really hard being a masterpiece and a blessing for every beer geek.

Lore (1388) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAY 10, 2015
beautiful appearance of deep dark brown, almost black colour, huge, very creamy, very dense brown head, which lasts for several minutes; incredible aroma of vanilla, coffee, milk chocolate, some toffee and herbal notes; taste of vanilla, heavy roasted coffee, syrupy-liqueur notes and some spicy alcohol in the aftertaste; excellent imperial stout!

Pitch black color, average sized brown head. Aroma of vanilla, cocoa, cake, powdered sugar, coffee. Taste of chocolate, vanilla, cake, coffee, booze. Very creamy and complex. Full body soft carbonation. Relatively boozy, so its not the easiest beer to drink, but still excellent.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This inky black beer pours with a large tan head that disappears rapidly without a trace! It has an extremely rich liquorice, dark chocolate and vanilla flavour, powerful alcoholic warmth followed by milk chocolate and more creamy vanilla on the finish. Superb!!
