Incedible Vanilla aroma, also some spice, liqurice, sweetness. Really pleasant! Taste is a bit unbalanced, to sweet. But still really good!

Bottle from the BrewDog online store. Pours almost black with a mid brown head. Most appealing aroma of vanilla, chocolate, light roasted milky coffee, with some dark fruit. Moderate sweetness, light bitterness, plus a touch of sour. Rich body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Very drinkable. Doesn’t feel like a 13% beer although alcohol does come through in a lingering finish. Very good, though not exceptional.

Bottle. Black in color and thick as motor oil with a small tan head. Big aroma, lots of coffee and vanilla, loads of dark chocolate, some molasses. Flavor is mildly sweet but not too much so. Nice coffee bitterness. Very smooth and thick feel with low carbonation. Really solid.

A: Pitch black with a huge brown thick head. N: Vanilla, coffee, chocolate, dark berries T: Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, wood, ash, blackberry O: The vanilla has really fallen off in the cellar. Remember it as a vanilla bomb! Still nice and the creamy mouthfeel is amazing!

There is an intense and complex aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Pours black with a thick, creamy head. Flavour is so rich and balanced. Bitterness from the coffee blends seamlessly with the sweet vanilla. Long finish. This is full bodied and low carbonation. An amazing beer.

330 ml bottle into snifter, best before 2/10/2026. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, vanilla, cream, brown sugar, toffee, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and coffee/vanilla notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, vanilla, cream, brown sugar, toffee, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness. Moderate roast/char and herbal hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty coffee, vanilla, cream, brown sugar, toffee, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and coffee/vanilla flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance; with slight lingering roasted astringency building up after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from hop/char bitterness, that lightly increases through the glass. Light carbonation and very full bodied; very smooth, creamy/silky/slick, and moderately sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish, with zero booziness. Overall this is a fantastic imperial stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and coffee/vanilla flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. I wish this wasn’t so acridly roasty/bitter, but it was still highly enjoyable all around.

Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2016 Bottle, thanks @vestergaard. Pours a pitch black with a nutty brown head. Unbelievably beautiful. Intense aromas of vanilla and milk chocolate. A bit of roasted malts and hops in there as well. Taste of roasted malts and hops, with a lively sweetness. Has a lot of vanilla and a milk cocoa, with some roasted coffee in the end. A full-bodied beer, with low carbornation. Really well-balanced.

At 13%, Beer Geek Vanilla Shake isn’t a breakfast for lightweights. It’s not exactly a hedonist’s idea of beer either. Yes, there is vanilla in this Imperial Stout but it won’t be confused for a sweet Stout. Mikkeller hits a balance between oatmeal, coffee, and vanilla. The result is velvety smooth, rich, roasted, and boozy brew. Vanilla comes in a toasted and spicy form. It works with the oatmeal creaminess and booze sugar without seeming like too much of a dessert beer. The coffee works similarly. You get the bold fresh-roasted notes, but not so much that it overwhelms the oatmeal. Balance is the key to this brew. And breakfast, after all, according to the advertisers, is supposed to be balanced.
