Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent June 2013 consumed at home in company of Casey & Traci 06.07.13 Pours black with dark brown head, looks good. The nose is a good combination of vanilla and coffee with a goodly dollop of cream and chocolate or milky, creamy chocolate to be more precise. Whilst I like this beer and whilst I like the vanilla, maybe the vanilla is deployed just a little too heavily here, nice but a little overkill. I think the strength is very well masked I really didn’t believe it was that strong. Good beer, very good in fact, smooth, indulgent and really tasty, just not quite great. A8 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

(330ml bottle from Mikkeller & Friends bottle shop) Pours a thick and syrupy looking inky black with a small dark tan head and some lace. Aroma has lots of vanilla bean, coffee, chocolate powder, creamy lactose sweetness, light roast, hints of molasses, chocolate liqueur aroma. Really like a shake! Taste definitely follows the aroma with cocoa, vanilla bean and extract, lightly burnt sugar, lactose sweetness, a bit of black coffee. A bit drier towards the finish with some drying roast coffee bitterness and alcohol. Bit of cocoa bean nuttiness. Thick creamy syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Dessert. Admirably balanced and sweet but not cloying despite the intensity of flavour. Way too drinkable.

Bottled 330ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Pitch black, dark brown head, strong vanilla and mild chocolate in the nose. Moderate roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla and alcohol with coffee and vanilla in the finish. Also vanilla in the aftertaste. Very good beer but a bit too much vanilla for my taste. 12.12%ABV

Pours black with thin, brown head. Predominantly peppery aroma, a slight smoky hint as of charcuteries, metallic hints, some muscovado sugar and big maltiness. Full bodied palate, balanced with a slight sweetness and some pepperiness coming through. Long finish. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark body, medium tan head. Aroma has custard pie and coffee - like a sunday morning. Sweet roasty oatmeal stout taste with more custard sweetness, not a classic vanilla taste. Neither the sweetness nor roast is overbearing, balance is just right. Really smooth mouthfeel. 13% is well hidden, I would say it’s more like 10%. For example, I found Alesmith Speedway to be way sharper and harder to drink at 12% ABV.

chocolate roasty, coffee, vanilla, for a very interesting aroma. black, cloudy, minimal head, brown foam. light sweetnes to medium sweetness. full body, full body, oily feel to thick soft carbonation, bitter, long finish. Very good flavour of coffee, a lit bit of fruits, choccolate. On the end vanilla and tobacco, forma very unique example.

Bottle @ home with DroolYeast. Aroma of coffee and sweet vanilla. Pours with a big brown head, disappears into virtually nothing. Completely black colour. Taste of coffee and sweet vanilla with a strong bitterness. Full body with an oily texture and flat carbonation. Long malty dry bitter finish.
