3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent June 2013 consumed at home in company of Casey & Traci 06.07.13 Pours black with dark brown head, looks good. The nose is a good combination of vanilla and coffee with a goodly dollop of cream and chocolate or milky, creamy chocolate to be more precise. Whilst I like this beer and whilst I like the vanilla, maybe the vanilla is deployed just a little too heavily here, nice but a little overkill. I think the strength is very well masked I really didn’t believe it was that strong. Good beer, very good in fact, smooth, indulgent and really tasty, just not quite great. A8 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle @ Mikkeller. Black pour with a tan head. Nose is pure vanilla. Sweet burnt sugar, roast, graham cracker, coffee, and cocoa powder accents. Flavor is super sweet, but just awesome vanilla. Tons of graham cracker. Nice cocoa, roast, burnt sugar, and coffee. Wow. Such vanilla. Many coffee.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
11/27/13. Pours oily opaque black with a thin dark brown head. Aroma is long on the vanilla, chocolate, coffee, roasty, some breadiness, very sweet; smells like hot chocolate blended with a vanilla cappucino. Taste is excellent, decadent; smooth, warming, lots of coffee, vanilla, chocolate, roasted coffee beans, very rich and flavorful; finish is long and bitter, coffee. The high ABV is not noticeable in the flavor profile. Small, oily lacing. Low carbonation. Very full, chewy mouth feel. Rich, decadent, indulgent, completely unapologetic. Just exquisite. Put this on tap in every better beer bar. Brew a Weasel variant. Age it in maple syrup barrels. Continue down the path that is this beer because it is excellent.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours BLACK with a brown head. Soft carbonation. Aroma of vanilla and chocolate. Taste predictably of roasted malt and coffee - but also a truckload of chocolate and vanilla. Also a bit nutty and a hit of licorice. The vanilla and chocolate hangs around a while after drinking. Very sweet and thick as motor oil. Alcohol well hidden. Very chewy and very good.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
11.2 ounce bottle thanks to lukaduke poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a thick, oily black with just a thin khaki colored head of foam that dissipates down to just a thin film. The aroma has notes of vanilla, molasses, oats, marmalade. The taste is more of that marmalade sweetness, but then I get a mellow vanilla bean around mid palate along with a subtle earthy, roasty coffee. Thick, chewy, near motor oil viscosity. The coffee bean bitterness lingers on the tongue several moments after the swallow. Just a faint alcohol burn in the back of the throat. Big beer, but I never would have thought it clocked in at 13%. Very good.
