Bottle from OTM. The appearance is a deep creamy oozy black with a small deep brown head. The nose is flowing with whole vanilla beans and vanilla extract with some marshmallow touches. The flavors are rich with vanilla that really powers the profile Roasty malts fill in the edges at the beginning and eventually rounds out the beer. A nice spice from the vanilla bean. Not enough coffee in front for my preference or maybe the roast is on the milder side. Don’t get me wrong it is there. A nice spicy after taste with a good amount of drying. Very tasty beer.

Bottle from Ålborg vinspecialisten. Pours very dark with brown head. Aroma of hefty vanilla, cocoa, bitter choco, roasted malts. Taste of vanilla pods, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, some liqurice. Fullbodied. Really nice but colud be stored a little time to balance the vanilla bitterness Bottle: Black...with a short, dark brown head. Raw vanilla, coffee bean, cocoa aroma. Flavour of mild licorice, vanilla, dark bitter chocolate.....ash and light smoke. Bitter finish....chocolate and coffee. Not overly sweet or lactic. Extremely well done.........excellent.

Pours a very dark brown with a sexy, orange-brown head. Hot greasy griddle, coffee, and a bit of tartness on the nose. Fat, big, powdery mouthfeel. Quite a bit of warmth. Very complex flavors. A lot going on at once. Coffee, dark sorghum, and Twizzler flavors. Anise emerges toward the very finish.

Bottle at home 13%. Poured a thick pitch Black colour with a small mocha head. Big aroma of vanilla, fudge, sweet belgian chocolate, caramel, milk chocolate, lactose, bitter roasted notes, ash aftertaste. Interesting beer. But I don’t like the bitterness in this beer combined with the vanilla

Dark brown color. Tons of vanilla, thick sweet nose with dark chocolate. The mouth is thick, sweet and lots of dark chocolate and vanilla. Soo smooth and balanced. Lingering vanilla and chocolate finish. Very well executed.

P: Completely black with a dark brown/reddish head that doesnt last long. S: Bitter coffee, cacao, roasted malts, and some lacto. T: Bitter coffee hits you first, followed by some vanilla that starts coating the tongue, dark roasted malt, charred wood and dark chocolate. M: Thick with medium carbonation and this is somewhat bitter. O: Nice beer but the coffee bitterness was a bit overwhelming.

33cl bottle shared in a De Dolle glass. Pours a thick black colour with a rather disappointing beige head which last all of a few seconds. Aroma is malt, coffee and sweetness. Taste is extremely (but not overly) sweet. Mouth feel is perfect for an imperial stout and the bitterness is hardly evident. No discernible taste of vanilla and the coffee is not overly pronounced but is certainly in the background. Less complex than other Imperial stouts I have tried but extremely flavoursome and close to being perfect. One of the best.

Dry and lacking in the texture that I anticipated from a vanilla stout. Probably due to the ABV, but I believe this could have been altered by cutting the edge of the ABV. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

Bottle. A finger-thick light tan head forms over a black body. Lots of coffee on the nose, with some vanilla and roasted malts. Coffee and some cloves. Alcohol. The flavor has coffee, vanilla, roasted malts and alcohol. Licorice too. Full body and a pleasant carbonation, rather sweet. Brown sugar, roasted malts, caramel, toffee notes and coffee. Lasting finish. Overall, pretty lovely, although demanding. Lots of nice aromas and flavors, and the sweetness and fruityness is really fine. 140717
