Bottle from OTM. The appearance is a deep creamy oozy black with a small deep brown head. The nose is flowing with whole vanilla beans and vanilla extract with some marshmallow touches. The flavors are rich with vanilla that really powers the profile Roasty malts fill in the edges at the beginning and eventually rounds out the beer. A nice spice from the vanilla bean. Not enough coffee in front for my preference or maybe the roast is on the milder side. Don’t get me wrong it is there. A nice spicy after taste with a good amount of drying. Very tasty beer.

Black pout with a thin espresso head. Briny, milk and soy sauce aroma. Taste is very bitter at first, lots of coffee. Mouth is huge and creamy. Not getting a lot of the vanilla. Coffee just dominates with chocolate moving in. Doesn’t taste 13%. And yes, this is pretty tasty.

My tasting notes- bitter coffee, alcohol, coffee raisin, creamy, chocolate, burnt sugar. Tasty stuff. Not as much oatmeal "depth" here. A lot less chewy than others of this style but no complaints!

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a small creamy lacy brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and coffee. Flavor was quite sweet with dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, vanilla beans, and some subtle licorice. Oily texture, full body, dry and roasty finish.

Bottle thanks to Jason for sharing. Black pour with almost no head. Aroma is dark roasted coffee, earth, and vanilla. Tastes very bitter. Dark roasted coffee, vanilla, dirt, char, and tobacco. Warming finish. Medium body. Solid and intense stuff but way too earthy for me to love.

Bottle. Pours thick pitch black with dense dark brown one finger head. Settles nicely and some lacing. Aroma is roasty coffee, hint of acid espresso, chocolate, roasted malts and I do catch a tiny subtle smoke. And off course sweet vanilla. Taste is rich and sweet. Chocolate and roasted malts. Bitter roasty coffee. The vanilla is not the head figure. Body is full and really smooth and has some carbonation. Finish some dry wood. Extremely well hidden alcohol yet warming, but had expected more vanilla.

330 ml bottle at home. Black color with very nice creamy beige-brown head. Aroma is roasted malty, full of spicy vanilla especially in the beginning, sweet chocolate notes, some coffee too. Taste is sweet and bitter, like the aroma, spicy vanilla with chocolate and coffee again. Medium to full body almost creamy with soft carbonation and nice bitter and spicy finish with a light touch of warming alcohol. Generally alcohol is well hidden.

Bottle: Thanks, Jason. Oily black with a very small bit of dark brown near the top. Tan foam resides quickly to a thin film & semi-chunky collar. Aroma of rich dark cocoa, fudge, smooth vanilla, creamy oats, a small touch of smoke & a little bit of roasty char. Very slight oatmeal cookie aroma with a bit of ashiness & booziness behind it. Flavor is pretty complex; lots of roasted malts, lightly burnt caramel & brown sugar, a touch of anise, oatmeal cookie, hints of vanilla, some moderately dry coffee notes, a slight booziness, & a super rich, dark chocolate fudgy finish. Robust, thick mouth feel. Tasty ass stout.

Bottle. Pours totally black with a small, diminishing brown head. The aroma is full of vanilla with some milky chocolate notes, an impression of rhubarb and custard. The flavour is sweet chocolate, vanilla, sweet dark malt, with a long finish of roast malt and hard roasted coffee. Thick body. Possibly a love or hate beer--I’m a lover.

Bottle shared with Simonsen
Pours dark, black in glass, thin tanned head. Smell of coffee, ice cream, dark malts and vanilla. Medium sweet, mocca coffee, vanilla, playful with a touch of chocolate. Finishes off with a moderate bitter tail of coffee. I had very high expectations, so it was a bit of a letdown on me. Still, i have to say this is a damn good beer.
