Pours pitch black with a very thin creamy mocha head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee beans but the vanilla is also really pronounced, it almost overwhelms the rest. Taste is fairly sweet, but it’s dry and bitter in the finish. Full body, lively carbonation and rich creamy mouth feel. Overall a really exceptional beer.

Pours pitch black with almost no head. Aroma: coffee (espresso), chocolate, vanilla, raisins. Taste: chocolate, coffee, pleasant alcoholic warming. Pretty thick. Palate: very nice warming effect, with some hoppy bitterness. A great beer.

Flaska beer ditch - doftade klassisk Stout. Försiktiga brändatoner och värme från alkoholen. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tapped at the SALON PIVA beer festival in Bratislava/Slovakia. Pitch black color impenetrable by flash light of my Iphone. Beige espresso color head. Aroma of coffee, a lot of dark chocolate. Taste was more dark chocolate and roasted malt, less coffee. Alcohol almost hidden and hence one must be careful. I did not really sense any vanilla in it. Overall an excellent beer!

11.2 oz bottle. Dark brown with tan foam. Nose is wood, raisin, vanilla and mocha. Lush and creamy, like melted chocolate, fading to sharp carb and char. Taste is vanilla, fudge, espresso and bitter greens. Sublimely sweet then hot and burnt. Very cool.

Tap at Salon piva. Aroma strong dark roasted, almost burnt malts. Only light vanilla. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Taste is strongly roasty, but not at all astringent or sour. Rather sweet. After a while becomes a bit ashy. Vanilla is muted, hardly detectable. Overall a fantastic classic RIS example.
