Pours solid black with two finger caramel colored head. Hoppy nose with cocoa and black licorice. Roasted malts, bitter hops, cocoa and coffee flavors. Smooth, slightly thin mouthfeel with "oatmeal" texture in middle. Hoppy bitterness lingers on finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(50 cl bottle from supermarket; BBD: March 1st 2014) Pours pitch black with rich toffee head. Good lace and retention. Aroma is herbally hoppy with faint notes of coffee. Creamy texture, full bodied, medium carbonation with a long, bitter finish. Taste is very bitter with some burnt notes. Leaves the sensation of the tongue getting burnt by an electric shock.

Deep pitch black coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying light brown head. Aroma of pungent roasted malt, coffee, raisins, caramel and a ton of hops - crazy smells for the style. Medium-bodied; Pungent fresh hops with grapefruit and pine showing with a lot of roasted malt and coffee with a lot of caramel and coffee notes showing through. Aftertaste has a lot of roasted malt and some pungent tobacco and earthy notes and the everpresent hop characters. Overall, a nice and strong stout with a ton of hops makes it a very nice beer with a lot of complexity and flavour. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 27-November-2011 for US$12.95 sampled at home in Washington on 12-January-2012 for my beer #3333.

Bottle. Pour is almost black with a thin tan head. Aroma is bursting with roasted malt and fresh hop. Also notes of coffee, ash, and faint burnt brown sugar. Smells a lot like very fresh Night Stalker. Flavor is a bit different. Loads of coffee up front with roasted malt and fresh resinous hops more of a background. Solid for sure. The coffee is clean; not burnt. Nice.

Bottle. Heavy nice beer geek breakfast, but the hops gets a bit to much and bitter in the long run.

bottle from pearl street bev, vt shared with seb A: initially roasty/ coffee then caramel with some piney / citrusy note from the hops. It’s more on the malt than hops. App: pitch black with lasting beige head. T/P: body is full finish being bitter and long. Carbonation is average. O: Excellent love the malts on that one really classy and sexy. Nice find will like to have again.

Great Oatmeal stout. It has the characteristics of a good Cascadian Dark Ale (CDA) due to its introduction of slight hops to the dark brown/black smooth roasted body

The aroma has a tinge of coffee. This beer pours a deep/dark color with minimal head retention and some visible lacing. Thin on the palate, very drinkable and very present hop character for a stout. Nice beer!
