Gorgeous black pour with a big brown head. Stuck around. Big piney hops wafted from the glass out front, then a big coffee presence along with some roasty malt. Flavors were big time hops, lots of pine. This mixed well with the coffee and roast flavors of beer geek breakfast. The finish was big time bitter. The coffee bitterness mixed with the hop bitterness, made for a long lingering roasty bitter finish. Mouthfeel was creamy, full, carbonation light. Very nice.

Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and citrus hops. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Strong dark malts aroma dominated by the aroma underscored by hops and %. Not much foam on this one, nice lacing though, nice and dark. Thick sweet stout wih lots of bittering matched up with% at the end give the Mikkeller breakfast flavou I’ve come to expect and enjoy. The coffee is noticably absent from this breakfast, but the stoit delivers.

Pours black with a thick brown head. Aroma is very strong it smells like a stout. rich and roasty. I smell coffee and chocolate. the hops are there. but the stout comes through very strong. Very bitter flavour. It is assaulting my palate. the flavour is so strong. The stout is very bold and complex and as you are enjoying the flavor of it all of a sudden. BAM!! bitter hops. It breaks the flavour and takes things over. This beer is unbalanced and I am not enjoying it. They have ruined a good stout. Or they have made an over the top black IPA. Either way this beer does not work.

Same pitch black pour with large brown head as the regular Beer Geek Breakfast. The aroma is pure pungent hops - so strong that it’s hard to make out any other aromas. The hops continues on into the taste and mixes well with the bitter chocolate and roasted coffee flavours. This is less sweeter than the Beer Geek Breakfast and has a lovely citrusy-piney hoppy finish. When Mikkeller says "hop" he really means it! Really more like a Black IPA. Wonderful!

Bottle at Home. Pours a near black body with a creamy coffee tan head that had nice lacing and sticks to the glass leaving behind a modest creamy ring. Aromatically a beautiful marriage between fresh hop tones, roasted chocolate and bitter coffee roast. Sweet and hoppy up front with a nice fresh cut grass y tone, followed by a lighter hoppy sweetness prickly pine, hints of citrus leaves you thirsty for more. Rounds out a bit bitter with that roasted coffee bitterness but that even soon subsides to make room for that lingering grass y bittering hoppiness. This is delicious, can hardly keep it in my glass. Drink asap.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Near black pour, low dense light brown head. Aroma is equally intense bitter roast and pine and pith hops. Flavours are the expected roasty coffee base layered over with piney hops--- tons of hops in fact! Hugely bitter finish. A chimeric blend of styles: part stout, part IPA. This could easily be re-categorized as a black IPA in my opinion. Very tasty.

Bottle via EZ liquors. Thanks Ant. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma is of citrus and pine hops, roast, chocolate and some coffee. Taste is complex with a nice mouthfeel, notes of coffee, chocolate, roast and a lot of lingering citrusy/pine hops in there on the finish. Very solid.

Very interesting taste. The coffee bitterness and the hop bitterness blend together to make it an interesting transition between the two flavors. The aroma is of hops and coffee. The appearance is very black with a brown head that has great retention. Good beer overall, However; I am looking forward to the beer geek brunch weasel more
