3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle picked up at StateLine... Intially shared by Roberto, this bottle was consumed at home. Poured into a snifter, dark black in color, good mocha colored head. Smells hoppy! (Duh) Lots of burnt roasted malts and coffee taste. The after taste is bitter, nice and hoppy. Creamy smooth body, easy to drink. Overall: A black IPA or a hoppy stout? Just more roasted malt and coffee... Simple but good stuff

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served from a bottle at the OTM Tasting room. The appearance is a pretty dark almost black hue with a small medium brown head. The aromas are where all the hops are. A nice citrus to earthly hop profile in the nose with a good roasted malt backing. The flavors seem to showcase the deeper malt roast profile with additions of some coffee and some oatmeal and other grains.. The mouth is pretty full boded with a heavy feeling after taste. Probably a bitterness left from the hops. I enjoyed this one and would love to try it again.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to Sarah. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a strong pine hop note that combines interestingly with the roasted malts. Flavor starts with roasted malts and a slight dark chocolate and a growing pine note in the finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle from Groppi’s. Pours a black color with a big tan head and lots of lacing. Aroma is hoppy, roasty. A bit heavy on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is bitter, hoppy, roasted malt, coffee, with a bitter coffee finish. More of an American Black Ale than a Stout for me. Meh.

Black color, big brown head. Very bizarry mix of hops, citrus, coffee in the scent. Not balanced though removing some elements of one kind might smooth it out to be better for me. Bitter, dry, coffee taste that finishes dry and malty. Sort of thin mouthfeel, rather high dry bitterness.
