4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber-----> tulip. Pours pitch black with a pretty thick dark tan head and medium lacing. Aroma is coffee, licorice, and more coffee. Taste follows the aroma with a bit of creamy roasted malt and hop bitter on the swallow. The thin palate on this one is my only beef, other wise a super solid beer. Happy International Stout Day!!!

Delightful. Brown black pour with decent head. Coffee and herby hop forward aroma. Great balance--neither too sweet nor too bitter. I’d drink this for breakfast...or any meal of the day.

Bottle. Black color with a medium thin beige frothy head. Strong aroma of resin, coffee, lemon, peach and licorice. Bitter and sweet taste. Sugary and bitter finish. Oily feel. Well balanced.

Bottle @ Home.
Very nice, not vanilla flavoured, oatmeal stout. Herby, dry, roasted and hoppy. Full and balanced.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks zvikar. Black, with thin white wave. Some ash and ink and chili aroma, bitter, inky, burnt and a little hot taste. Smooth, full-bodied, a little spicy and acidic finish.

Draft. Pours like used motor oil with creme colored head that lingers. Smells like chocolate covered raisins. Light carbonation. Not as chewy as you might expect an oatmeal stout. Tasty.

Nose has nice earthy whole cone hop character and earthy coffee beans. Taste generally follows, a very earthy coffee note, some light cocoa roast character, a solid beer and certainly one of my favorites within the style (which I generally find disagreeable).

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a solid tan head. Looks more like a stout than a black IPA. Awesome aroma like hops soaked in black coffee...really unique. Nice flavor...like a creamy coffee porter up front that fades into hop bitterness. Great creamy mouthfeel with solid heat that complements the hop bitterness...really good, unique beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured black with tan head that dissipated quickly. Smelled of chocolate and faint notes of coffee. Tasted light on the tongue, lots of coffee and a bitter finish. Tasted really carbonated, even though the bottle was about a year old. The style lists this beer as a Black IPA. I didn’t experience any of the hoppiness I’d expect from a Black IPA, just the bitterness.
