Nose has nice earthy whole cone hop character and earthy coffee beans. Taste generally follows, a very earthy coffee note, some light cocoa roast character, a solid beer and certainly one of my favorites within the style (which I generally find disagreeable).

Bottle thanks to LukasMH! Pours a pitch black with a big, frothy, brown head. Aroma is extremely hoppy! Roasty, fresh hops, dry hop, simcoe, licorice, coffee. Taste is very roasty and bitter. Huge hoppy bitterness as well, lots of coffee. Very dominated by bitter nuances, but with a big smooth body. Average to high carbonation.

Bottle Pitch black with pearly mocca head. Roasted malts in nose, coffee and green, fresh hops. Very grassy. Such green hops, fresh and citrussy and sharp, yet roasted dark malts and chocolates. Dries out a lot.. One of the best Black ipas ive had lately!

Bottiglia 33cl@ giangaspero.
Nera con bella schiuma.
Caffè schietto e finale al luppolo, potenzialmente una vaccata tremenda, invece è equilibrata ed intensa

500ml bottle enjoyed for about an hour at Café Viking, Nørrebro. The oily pour reveals a deep black body topped by a fading fawn-coloured head, leaving dotted spots on the glass. Solid roasted dark malts on the nose, ashy dry. Delicious taste profile of coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and ash. Lingering dark bitter tail, nicely roasted. Full bodied. Just lovely (Copenhagen 02.05.2015).

Very enjoyable brew. Wonder what it would be with age?? Great oats and stout malt taste. Overall little taste of coffee. Wish there were more.

33cl bottle enjoyed @ home. Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, liquorice and some citrus. Flavour is roasted and bitter. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation. Finish is almost like cold coffee. I miss more hops in aroma and flavour.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Mikkeller Webshop; opaque black pour with a big mocha head, aroma had distinct pine, roast malts and some coffee, taste chocolate, pine background, roast malts, coffee, slick mouthfeel, if there was such a thing as a IBIPA this would hit the mark.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle at home, 2011 vintage. Pours deep black with a very steady, xreamy light beige head. extremely roasted barley in the nose, the gentle pine bitterness has well integrated, dark chocolate, burnt bread and a tad of alcoholic sharpness. Thick body with an imminent kick of hop bitterness, mellowing out towards the end and the roastiness taking over. Taste is dark chocolate, very dry aftertaste as well. Nice.
