3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle from Beer Cartel, Sydney with BB of 8/4/16. A black beer with a moderate sized brown head that reduces to a stable surface film that laces scantily. Aroma is prominent roasted coffee beans, roasty malts with vague hints of musty woodiness and dark chocolate. Palate is creamy smooth and lightish with coffee bitterness throughout and a mild dry finish. A nice quaffable stout that should suit your Sunday Brunch.

Bottle. Dark brown beer. Aroma of coffee, with a mild note of smoke. Taste is mostly round coffee, with some smooth vanilla. Gritty mouthfeel. Could use more body, but quite a good beer.

Previous comments are correct. A good drop but noticeably thinner than the regular strength version. Still tastes like damn good coffee and worth a visit before noon.

Bottle. 4.8%. Best before 08.04.16. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a diminishing tan head. No lacing. Sweetish, malty aroma. Roasted and light coffee notes. Bit of chocolate as it warms. Feels quite soft; velvet. Flavour is a bit tart, roasted with a hint of vanilla. Chocolate note as it warms, and the tart note takes on a berry-likeness. Tart bitter finish, roasted, with a light coffee note. Lingering light alcohol burn (which is odd considering the low abv) and a grassy note. Overall good, but the flavour feels a wee bit thin, and the tart notes are a bit too strong. 07.11.14.

Funky stout with distinctive coffee, strange coffee flavor to it. But not dry. Well carbonated and almost refreshing to drink. I would choose that over a cold coffee every time. It has a narrow flavor but very long aftertaste. Interesting.
