Bessen, koffie, chocola in balans met een bittere boventoon. Zware smaken dus maar toch blijft het betrekkelijk fris. Backlog from 2014/10/25.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating #1373 - 10.12.2014 - Christmas Party for 1 at Charcut. Pours a thick black with a tan head. Nose is toasted malt, coffee grinds, woodsmoke. Taste is more of these flavours, solid bitterness from the roasted malt and hop character. Lots of coffee flavour and the thick mouthfeel expected of oatmeal stouts. Unreal depth for 4.8%.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is sweet roasty malts, caramel, toffee and coffee. Taste is again roasty and sweet malts with chocolate and light clove on the tip. Pretty smooth drinking and complex enough to be enjoyable. Appearance is a light brown head that retains fairly well with a black body.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a very short lasting cocoa head. Aroma is coffee and dark chocolate. It’s got a very ground coffee taste to it, roasted malts, earth and smoked wood. Lovely.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle traded with Plovmand. Significant amounts of brown sugar, dried fruit, vanilla, pipe tobacco. significantly less coffee. The latter manages to develop well into the tobacco-laden finish and stays in the aftertaste. Light, watery palate, somewhat balanced by the oiliness of the coffee. Other than similar beers, this one is basically not tart at all. It still doesn’t deliver, as it is quite watery all in all.

Bottle. Dark cola-brown, average beige head. Sweet chocolate, balanced coffee, bitter roast. Mouthfeel is thin but the flavours are nice.
