COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Draft - Honey, lemon and yeast. Cloudy yellow with a rich beige head. Orange zest, grain and yeast with a sweet finish. A bit too yeasty for my taste.

Bottle. Pours a golden orange with a large, off-white head. Aroma is yeasty, somewhat hoppy. Lemon, some peel, peach, slightly vinous, some berries and a dab of spice. Taste is yeasty, a lot of spice, peach, light lemon. Quite sweet, ethanol comes through in the middle. Would credibly pass for an authentic tripel. Palate is medium, smooth and not that heavily carbonated.

sulawang (629) - British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 27, 2013
Visual: Kiddish artwork, still cool in my book. Pours cloudy golden orange with lots of suspended chunky sediment, decent-sized dissipating creamy head, thin layer of retention, some visible slow-moving streams. Nose: sweet HONEYED malts (typical tripel-style), mild citrus & floral notes. Attack: dense incoming sweet malts Mid-palate: ultra-silky creamy mouthfeel, (MAIN) toffee malts, honeyed sweetness(8) orange citrus, (HINT) mild sour/tanginess Finish: burpy CO2, coriander/yeasty, orange peel bitterness(5), alcohol detection(9), malty bittersweet lingering finish. Summary: It packs a potent punch. Flavourful and drinkable, another good brew from Mikkeller. (Note: all numbers above are on a 10-point scale, with 1 being weak and 10 being the strongest)

bulldogops (1048) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 6, 2013
330ml bottle from Co-op. 9% Wanted to see Mikkellers crack at the trappist styles - Monks Elixir was quite good. Pour is pretty standard, hazy golden orange with a bubbly white head. Aroma is almost tropical, getting more mango tangerine type citrus sweetness. Mouthfeel is crisp, medium-heavy alcohol character, medium carbonation. Taste is crisp but a bit of a mess for a tripel. Get a doughy maltiness typical of Mikkeller that really overarches the yeast character. Tropical notes present on the palate as well, but just a little all over the place for me.

Bottle from Brewdog shop. Amber color, white head. Bittersweet taste with citrus, ripe fruits, earthy notes, yeast and a bit of mango. Bitter finish with citrus and a bit of sweet fruits. Very nice tripel.
