Tap @ Mikkeller Bar. Deep ruby pour, light, off-white head. Very intense aroma with a huge malty and sugary attack with a lot of oak, sherry, rum, port wine, alcohol, raisins, dark, rich berries and figs. The taste packs a violent malty/sugary punch as well with lots of oak, rum, sherry, alcohol, syrup and some strawberry. Thick, punchy palate with an oily and sticky texture, full body, low carbonation, medium duration. Very intense and interesting.

On tap. Hazy orangey brown with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is dominated by wood and tart fruit. Solid body, woody accents, notes of tart herbal cough syrup, sweet caramel and salt. Very alcoholic finish. Quite a complex blend, very interesting if not exactly perfect. 200610

Tab@Mikkeller Bar. Pours deep rubyred/brown with a small tanned head. Aroma has sherry, dark fruits, figs, dark berries, huge sweetness, some obvious alcohol, notes of fermented apples. The palate is massive. Huge malt sweetness, dark berries, some dried figs, dates, prunes, lots of alcohol, dry oaky and slighly tart finish and after taste. Huge body, soft carbonation, long duration. A good but really heavy barley wine. I really enjoyed this.

Unclear medium to dark orange amber color with a grey notes, a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, cask wood, light dried fruit, plums, old klunke furniture, light alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, dried fruit, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily - sticky, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic.

Draught @ the Mikkeller Bar. Hazy deep brown amber colour with a small short head. Sweet dark fruity and deep malty alco woody aroma. Good mouthfeel, sticky. Quite sweet flavour, heavy on malt, lots of dark fruits, alcohol, wood, pleasant soft bitterness. Quite sweet though.

Handbottled. Amber coloured. Dense brown head. Aroma of prunes, sweetness, light spice, wood, vanilla and some vague shherry. flavour of sherry, wood, spice, fruits, light alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Dry and fruity end with a touch of alcohol.

Unclear amber with a medium beige head. Aroma had wood, toasted malt, ripe fruits and chalk. Flavour had toasted malt, caramel, chalk, brett and hoppy notes. Finished bone dry.

Handbottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma Has notes of malt, alcohol, and lots of caramel. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel, alcohol, grapes, and malt as well as lesser notes of wood and a touch of brettanomyces, leading to a dry lightly tart finish.
