Complexa aromŕticament. Notes d’envelliment en fusta, aroma a fruita i un punt de flors. Cremosa. Final sec i alcohňlic. Per prendre amb calma després d’un ŕpat.

aveage mouth feel for a BW some light creaminess. Thinner than I might have expected. Flavor is well balanced a syrupy molasses like sweetness offset with a hint of toffee and a more English hop styling followed by a dry oaky flavor finishes with the reminents of a dry red wine married together well. Alcohol is noticeable but not problematic. Very well balanced. Good stuff.

Ya dancer. Drunk on a long train journey and thank God for it. Very complex nose- big big funk- cheese rind the wife offers- then booze with veg and malt with dark fruits. Holds up very well for the ABV which never dominates. Prune, little toffee, fortified wine, long boozey bittersweet finish. Just large large large and Mikkeller. Nuff said.

Pours rustic, filthy, cloudy brown with a thick light brown head. Smells surprisingly fresh. The red wine is present already, and combined with the sweetness it’s almost smells like apple pie. The taste is sweet, but works very well with the wine. Toffee and malty. Very nicely executed!

Pours an opaque brown with a thin cap of mocha head that is very bubbly. Moderate lacing. I got a ton of sedimant in this beer. Aroma is so strong up front. A ton of red wine mixed with a lot of yeast and alcohol. A lot of caramel and dark fruit. If you hold your nose for a while, there is a slight rubbing alcohol burn. Awesome mix. Mouth is huge. A lot of yeast and alcohol. Dark fruits: mainly plum and figs. Some vanilla and caramel. There is a lot of Red wine that finishes off dry and sits on your tongue a bit.

Pours a cloudy mahogany with a ring of tan head that leaves light lacing. Complex aroma, featuring butterscotch, toffee(these I feel are from the wine barrels), figs, raisins, lactose, biscuits, and a touch of alcohol. Alcohol is more prevalent in the mouth, but so is the yeast. The sweetness is big, the bitterness is minimal. Thick and chewy mouthfeel, and that lingers more so than the toffee aftertaste in the mouth. I loved it! I was lucky to find the last one on the shelf, and if I can get lucky enough to ever see this again, I will re-review a year later.

EHouse (170) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 12, 2011
A malty beast of a barley wine that probably would have been better suited to age in a non red wine barrel. Huge nose of candied figs and Cabernet. A shapely body flows over my tongue and reminds me of the cloying palate of a heavy red wine. Figs, oak, black cherries and truck loads of caramel malt dominate the flavor before morphing into a strangely out of place oaky, red wine finish. Strangely unique and in need of a few tweaks.

375ml bottle. Pours dark bordeaux with a smooth white head. Aroma of caramely malts, vinous notes, wood, oak and berries. Taste is sweet, malty and vinous with notes of berries, wood and oak. Finish is stingy, sweetish, vinous and woody with notes of tart berries, caramel and oak. A bit unbalanced and too vinous. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours dark amber with light brown head. Light aroma of oak, fruit, tobacco, wine. Little bit of heat. Flavors of oak, citrus, cinnamon. Flavors from the wine barrel blend nicely with this beer. Finishes slightly bitter.
