Bottle 12.7fl.oz.

Clear light dark red - orange amber color with a small large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, caramel, wood - toabacco, red wine barrel wood, light moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, wood, toabacco, dry, grape notes. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is flat to soft, fnish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [20110413]

Bottle. Cloudy medium brown with a creamy tan head. Sweet caramel toffee apple red wine and oak aroma and taste. Thick sticky palate. Quite good.

A malty beast of a barley wine that probably would have been better suited to age in a non red wine barrel. Huge nose of candied figs and Cabernet. A shapely body flows over my tongue and reminds me of the cloying palate of a heavy red wine. Figs, oak, black cherries and truck loads of caramel malt dominate the flavor before morphing into a strangely out of place oaky, red wine finish. Strangely unique and in need of a few tweaks.

4/30/11. 375mL bottle courtesy mlunger12. Cloudy reddish pour with a small tan head that forms a ring and sticks. Huge aroma of alcohol, oak, vanilla, butter, and a hint of dark tannins. Sweet flavor upfront with awesome oak character - oak, vanilla, butter, coconut, and more. Way better flavor than aroma. Nice!

Bottle opened at my "Massive Mikkeller" tasting. Opened right next to the regular Big Worse. This one, in comparison, had a nice peppery spice aroma mixed with the boozy maltyness. Took me a while to get around to landing this one but I’m happy I finally got it ticked.

Cloudy dark red beer with a big pale tan fluffy head. Light palate, smooth and a little dry. Low carbonation. Light malt with traces of cream and barrel induced vanilla. Nice touch of red wine, not dominant but with good red berry fruits. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Very nice BA beer that belies it’s strength.

Bottle @ dan’s house. Hazy, red violet appearance with a tan head. Rich caramel, toffee, light chocolate, slightly fruity, mild vinous aroma. Rich, quite mild red vinous, caramel, toffee, sweet malty flavor. Very nice beer that I’m enjoying way more than the normal version.

On tap at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Pours a cloudy ruby-mahogany body with a fingerthick creamy light brown head. Honey, dried figs, vanilla, barrel notes on the nose. Full bodied and pungent. Thick mouth. Heavy sweet and moderately bitter. Aromas also present in the mouth. Alco warm. Light salty notes. Long finish.

Bottle. Pours brown with creamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruitiness, grains, caramel, some mint and yeast. Flavor is sweet and malty with some sweet red berries, wood, grapes and caramel. Full body, soft carbonation.Nice barley wine.
