12.7 ounce bottle from Capone’s. Pours relatively clear dark straw with minimal white head. Quite frankly, this one looks wimpy. Nose is perfumy floral spices, hops, and sadly some plasticy fusels, almost to the level of a yellow rain coat thrown in a blender. Tastes rich, sweet, with notes of malt, syrupy honey, dark fruit, floral spices, and hops. Comes off like a spicier Irish Mist mixed with apple wine. Heat is apparent early and often. This one is unique and unconventional, but it cannot be denied that it is a bit of a mess. This one makes Weyerbacher Insanity seem like Fullers Vintage Ale. Rerated 11:51, almost finished. This one degrades as it warms, getting pretty bad late. This is the first Mikkeller beer that I have had trouble finishing.

mcberko (6029) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 3, 2014
375mL bottle, pours a dark amber with small bubbles as head. Nose brings out lots of caramel, dark fruits and alcohol - very potent. Flavour screams dark fruits, with loads of dates, figs, toffee, port, grapes and loads of alcohol. Too much for me - the alcohol is overburdening, though it’s not really that boozy for the ABV. Complex and drinkable slowly, but it gets really harsh after a while. Not my thing at all.

Hansen (6495) - Assentoft, DENMARK - NOV 12, 2010
Nice color, ruby-brown, but no head. Heavy aroma, sweet, odd kind of port-wine. Sharp pepper. Heavy sweet flavor, sharp alcohol. Buy a good sherry or port instead of this beer.

12.7fl oz wax sealed bottle poured into a pint glass. Cloudy orange with a small white cap. Aroma is candy sugar, honey, biscuit. Flavor is honey, honey, biscuit, alcohol kick, and honey. Wow. Majorly sweet. Alcohol very warming. Definitely a slow sipper. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

PhillyCraft (3142) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Bottle. Pours a moderately carbonated pinkish orange. Medium head, small amount of sticky white lacing. Aromas and taste of bannana bread, fuel, slight dogfish nail polish remover yeast, sweet barley, tons of caramel malt and crystal malt. I understand this beer was 18% but it was still very hot in the chest. Not hidden well at all. Finishes with a boozey mango mead flavor and aftertaste

Tap at Holy Grale for Zwanze Day 2013. Pours clear amber with a medium white head. Aroma of malt, creamy sweetness and some fruit. Malty flavor with slight banana and alcohol before a syrupy finish. Not my thing.

Bottle @ home. Burgundy, Dr. Pepper colored appearance with really no head. Strong, sweet, berry, vinous, boozy nose. Strong, boozy, sweet berry, incredibly malty flavor with a big warming finish. Not really my cup of tea.

17.6 version Foil and corked and caged Dark, clear, orange amber color. No head at all. Thick and syrupy looking. Big ABV legs. Nose is dark fruits, lots of brown sugar, some sherry or oxidation in the nose, or is it nail polish remover? Cardboard and dark fruit taste. Interesting mix. Bread, alcohol, and melted brown sugar. Slightly thin really. Lots of heat in the palate. Tongue is quite numb after a few sips. Sweet, slick and syrupy. No carbonation. Just really all over the board and not in a good way. Slow sipper and and not that great make for a bad experience.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2010 Clear amber with a medium white head. Hoppy and sweet aroma with malty and caramel notes. Powerful grapefruit flavour with pine, loads od hops and malty notes. Extremely sweet. It’s just to much.
