3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap @ Mikkeller SF. $8/20cl. Pours a clear dark reddish orange appearance with a tan head. Heavy Christmas candy / candy sugar / toffee aroma with lots of orange slices and sugar. Heavily sweet flavor with a fair amount of booze but not as much as I expected. Some cardboard notes. Actually the booze and the barrels come on really fucken strong the longer you drink it. Lots of red apple and caramel and burnt sugar. Fair amount of oxidation. High sugar and booze boost. Not my thing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft sample at Mikkeller Bar. Pours a clear amber color with a thin off white film. The aroma and flavor have huge sweet caramel, dark fruits, orange, sweet dessert wines, booze, a hint of smoke on the nose, candied fruit, sticky, syrupy, way too much, cloying. It would be worse if I had a full pour by myself. Thank goodness for friends.
