On tap @ Mikkeller SF. $8/20cl. Pours a clear dark reddish orange appearance with a tan head. Heavy Christmas candy / candy sugar / toffee aroma with lots of orange slices and sugar. Heavily sweet flavor with a fair amount of booze but not as much as I expected. Some cardboard notes. Actually the booze and the barrels come on really fucken strong the longer you drink it. Lots of red apple and caramel and burnt sugar. Fair amount of oxidation. High sugar and booze boost. Not my thing.

Draft sample at Mikkeller Bar. Pours a clear amber color with a thin off white film. The aroma and flavor have huge sweet caramel, dark fruits, orange, sweet dessert wines, booze, a hint of smoke on the nose, candied fruit, sticky, syrupy, way too much, cloying. It would be worse if I had a full pour by myself. Thank goodness for friends.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2014 A huge beer that manages to conceal its strength with a finely balanced and full bodied flavour. Definitely one to sip and savour.

Pours murky darker yellow with no head. Aroma is of honey, some citrus, nuttyness, some sherry. Taste is of apricot, honey, sherry, sweet malts, and a small lingering balanced out bitterness. Extremely drinkable, and alcohol is only noticed by a burning sensation in after taste.

On tap @ Urge Gastropub. Hazed orange pour with a small white head. Syrupy, sugary nose. Some dates, fruit cake, and lots of sweet wine. Lots of booze, orange oil, and honey. Cloying sweetness on the tongue. Really syrupy. Tons of dates, sherry, alcohol, and candied citrus peel. Slight solvent note as it warms.
