COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No freeze distilling needed. This beer has been barrelaged 10 times on different bourbon barrels. It took us two years to bring the imperial stout Black up from the original 18% ABV to the amazing 26,1%.How about the taste? There is a reason it is called the “Black Fist”. Decant it as we suggest in the serving tips, and you will have a mindblowing experience. This beer is complex.

Shared a bottle yesterday with a friend. Black liquid with a very small brown head which disappeared in a few seconds. Lots of caramel in the aroma along with roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Very sweet taste of bourbon, caramel, chocolate. Light bitterness. Nice alcohol burn, it wasn’t as harsh as I thought it would be. Creamy and thick texture. soft carbonation. Not that complex at all, still a great beer and a bomb of flavours.

Bottle @ home, thanks to Armin for sharing. Thick black appearance with a thin brown head. The aroma is incredibly nice with only a negative note of slight soy sauce. Mostly, it’s just German chocolate cake, coconut. I guess there is some chemical / boozy notes as well. Holy smokes, the flavor is incredibly rich dark chocolate, caramel, and coconut. Delicious flavor. And then you get a huge fucken vodka burn on the finish with a surprisingly strong amount of herbal hoppy bitterness. Sort of fun as a sipper. Jesus, there is a massive amount of bitterness on the finish along with vanilla vodka. Weird.

Pour out of 375 ml bottle, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big molasses, hints of dark fruit, coffee, roast, hints of booze, touch of earth. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, roast, coffee, dark fruits, hints of booze, finishing fairly harsh, bitter, boozy.

Looks like chocolate and water. Very oily, nice pitch black. No head obviously. Smells super chocolate forward with a touch of espresso. So boozy. So intense. Jeez. Holy crap this is terrible. Chocolate booze and vodka and moonshine

375 ml bottle thanks to Adam. Aroma is booze, chocolate, grain alcohol and a touch of anise.

Flavor reminds me of Black Tuesday. Hot, boozy with chocolate, coffee and maybe a vodka grain alcohol burn. Hints of coffee grounds and vanilla bean. Maybe licorice and a slap of booze. Did I mention this is hot?

There once was a man being chased by a ferocious tiger. Man run to edge of cliff; man falls off. Half way down he grab onto a branch. He look up; he see the same hungry tiger that was chasing him. Now he look down; he see ANOTHER hungry tiger, waiting for him, on the ground below. That not a good place to be! He know, for sure, he a gonna die. Then, outta corna of his eye, he see a strawberry, hanging from that same branch. Well he pluck it, and he eat it... and.... It was the sweetest tasting strawberry he ever had.

On tap at Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade, Copenhagen, April 2014. A deep black colour with a medium size brown head. A strong, room-filling hop and chocolate malt aroma. Flavour has chocolate malt sweetness, a pronounced burnt flavour with roasted barley. A burnt finish. Needless to say the alcohol is very evident. Quite a thick texture. This is an interesting brew, but pretty hard to drink. Not one I’d have again.

En vild whiskey duft og sød malt. Ret kulsort men brun i bunden. Det R jo bare ren sprut. Kompleks ja, ja men det er en ren sprutsmag. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 375ml. A more or less flat one, very dark in color, dark reddish brown, and with next to no head. Alcohol, roasted malts, coffee, licorice and hops on the nose. A touch of treacle too. It’s bitter, warming and full-bodied on the palate, way, way, way too warming, it’s just booze with an imperial stout flavor. Roasted malts, coffee and some chocolate notes. Citrusy hops and treacle too. Sort of soft on the palate, except for the extreme heat though. Lasting finish. There’s lots of nice things going on here, both in the aroma and in the flavor, the hoppy bitterness is also on the positive side, but then there’s so much alcohol I can’t say I enjoyed it much at all. Interesting though. 140322

Sampled at VANØ annual meeting2014. Close to pitch black body with a thin beige head. Strong aroma of dark malt, dry fruit and intense oak with whisky and vanilla. Flavor is very sweet and boozy, lots of oak, vanilla, dry fruit, bitter coffee and whisky. Full body and one aftertaste that stays almost too long. Lots of everything here, but too much wood and boozy whisky for my likings. Nothing against whisky barrel stout, but this is just too messy for me.
