COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No freeze distilling needed. This beer has been barrelaged 10 times on different bourbon barrels. It took us two years to bring the imperial stout Black up from the original 18% ABV to the amazing 26,1%.How about the taste? There is a reason it is called the “Black Fist”. Decant it as we suggest in the serving tips, and you will have a mindblowing experience. This beer is complex.

Shared a bottle yesterday with a friend. Black liquid with a very small brown head which disappeared in a few seconds. Lots of caramel in the aroma along with roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Very sweet taste of bourbon, caramel, chocolate. Light bitterness. Nice alcohol burn, it wasn’t as harsh as I thought it would be. Creamy and thick texture. soft carbonation. Not that complex at all, still a great beer and a bomb of flavours.

375ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki, courtesy of skullgeorge. Black color with beige brown head. Alcoholic and fruity aroma. Dark dried fruits, plums, figs, raisins and wood, some roasted malty notes. Sweet and light bitter taste, burning alcohol. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

Bottle. This beer was a true black fist to my face. Dense oily texture and very dark colour hypnotized when pouring. Rich dark malty aromas bordering with strong whiskey. The taste was a real punch. Initially rich sweet malty complexity. The the heavy alcohol hits with great strength. Not for the faint hearted. More interesting than good IMO, but the level of craft is so high that the points have to be high as well.

Bottle. RB Meeting Vienna March Edition. Thanks to Mmahut. Black body with nearly no head. Aroma is alcohol with toffee and coffee. Taste is alcohol sweetness with malts and hints of coffee. Aftertaste is alcohol with malts sweetness and some bitterness. This is like a black fist in the face but nice.

375 ml, bottled 26/07/11, shared by Mmahut at RB Tasting Vienna March Edition. Thanks!
Aroma of quite sharp alcohol, turf, toffee, bourbon, dried fruits.
Taste is also very boozy, hot, with the above mentioned aromas, also coffee and barrel notes.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes very boozy, warm, astringent, dry, roasty-bitter, with some barrel notes.

Propably the strongest beer I’ve had so far. The alcohol is very dominant. Surely a great beer, with loads of big malts and notes from the barrel aging. But overall not my style, I prefer it balanced and this is quite the opposite.

Botte. RB Tasting Vienna March Edition. Blach body, low head. Aroma has caramel, coffee, plums, loaded with alcohol, but not as much as I would expect. Woody. Taste has high kicking in alcohol sweetness, woody bitterness. Body is full, oily, low carbonation.

Bottle shared by Per-Ake with Gabriella and I, thanks. Mikkeller Bar, 16th March 15. This one smells like solvent and alcohol, taste is harsh and burning, loads of alcohol. Like a rough liquor

A beautiful mess. Murky brown, greasy and headless. Dunking your head in an empty bourbon barrel. Sweet, nutty and tarry dirt. Silky enough dark malt times, almost minty balsamic for a moment. Real biting, scratching booze on the finish. Full on but comforting after it opened up a fair bit.
