No freeze distilling needed. This beer has been barrelaged 10 times on different bourbon barrels. It took us two years to bring the imperial stout Black up from the original 18% ABV to the amazing 26,1%.How about the taste? There is a reason it is called the ďBlack FistĒ. Decant it as we suggest in the serving tips, and you will have a mindblowing experience. This beer is complex.

Shared a bottle yesterday with a friend. Black liquid with a very small brown head which disappeared in a few seconds. Lots of caramel in the aroma along with roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Very sweet taste of bourbon, caramel, chocolate. Light bitterness. Nice alcohol burn, it wasnít as harsh as I thought it would be. Creamy and thick texture. soft carbonation. Not that complex at all, still a great beer and a bomb of flavours.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of booze, bourbon, coffee, licorice, acetone, wood and even more booze. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of bourbon, raw sugar, vanilla, booze, chocolate and wood. Full bodied with low carbonation. Lots of booze and barrel character. This was a pretty bad idea... Too much of everything.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Smells of old cavematured cheese. Taste starts of with a sting of alcohol and continues with some sweetness of raisins. It leaves your mouth with a burning sensation.

Bottle shared by dudeabide- thanks again, Nate! Pours a deep brown, not quite opaque and amber around the sides, with a small tan ring for a head. Aroma of vanilla, charred oak, caramel, bourbon, brown sugar - nice and simple, actually, and not as intense as expected. The intensity shows up in the flavor, however, with charred oak, super rich roasted malts, burnt sugar, bakerís chocolate, and only a little vanilla thrown in to offset a small portion of the heaviness and booze and bitterness and roast and ash. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation. Not 26% in the nose, but it certainly is in the mouth.

12.7oz bottle, big thanks to dudeabide for sharing. Really nice coffee, bourbon, big vanilla, cookie dough. Very dark brown color, thin off-white head. Spread and dots and bits of lace. Wow, the flavor is so intense. Very roasty, very bitter. Dark chocolate, big coffee, touch of licorice, some ash. A lot of complex dark flavors going on here. Really impressive, really interesting experience. With small sips, there is a bit of an alcohol burn, but itís really not bothersome and appropriate for the ABV, pretty impressive, really. It somehow still drinks like a beer, whereas most beers of this gravity that Iíve tried usually end up tasting like liquor. Hell thereís actually carbonation in this. Light carbonation, with a dry finish. Medium to bigger body noticeable, with small sips. Good chewy texture. Really awesome, interesting stuff... Super impressive that it can taste this good at that ABV. Super potent flavor.

Poured into a decanter, to a medium, mossy-beige head, not very long-lasting over virtually black beer. Walnut, portwine, higher alcohols, esternovae, Bourbon/brandy, vanilla, liquorice, preserved meat. Impressive doesnít even come close. Bitter, walnutpeel, alcohol & fusels. Burnt grains/malts, sweet underneath from both the alcohol and the malts. Some astringency. Warming up, more vanilla emerging and incense. Fiery alcoholburn, throatexplosion. "Rather well-bodied", Iíd say, if you catch my drift. Amazing beer, to put it mildly. Nearly impossible to afford, but for once...

Decanted this monster, as instructed. Even though Iím not a fan of Black (the base beer) Iíve liked all the Black Holes, Black Ties, etc... The aroma on this was very bourbon heavy but also very inviting. The rest, though, was a bit rougher. I liked it more than some in our party, but a little pour goes a looooooong way. The barreling was great, and I expected more of a booze like experience than a beer. What kept me from liking it more was the some overly hot ashy tar that was prevalent in black as well...though I think this one better."

beige head no lacing. coffee coloured. aroma of vanilla, coco, boozy, wood, caramel. taste like aroma with a wry and bitter aftertaste. tanins from the wood barrels? quite full and rich. surely a special experience, decanting it like wine and letting it breath. soft and silky mouthfeel, medium carbonation. bottle 37,5cl

Bottle @ home, thanks to Armin for sharing. Thick black appearance with a thin brown head. The aroma is incredibly nice with only a negative note of slight soy sauce. Mostly, itís just German chocolate cake, coconut. I guess there is some chemical / boozy notes as well. Holy smokes, the flavor is incredibly rich dark chocolate, caramel, and coconut. Delicious flavor. And then you get a huge fucken vodka burn on the finish with a surprisingly strong amount of herbal hoppy bitterness. Sort of fun as a sipper. Jesus, there is a massive amount of bitterness on the finish along with vanilla vodka. Weird.

Pour out of 375 ml bottle, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big molasses, hints of dark fruit, coffee, roast, hints of booze, touch of earth. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, roast, coffee, dark fruits, hints of booze, finishing fairly harsh, bitter, boozy.
