Bottle from Voldby Købmandsgaard - pours a black dark reddish colour. With a small beige head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, caramel, red wine tinged woody nuances, slight coffee and choc, berry type fruits. Complex, slick, vinous with a good subtle boozeyness in the finish. Beautiful.

Lowenbrau (1948) - Asturias, Oviedo, SPAIN - DEC 11, 2013
375ml bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. Shared with angel77. Pours black with nice tan head. Some head retention and lacing. Roasty, coffee, somw wood and tart aromas. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Taste is coffee, roasty, wood, some wine acid flavours. All flavours are well integrated, from the very beggining. Ends more like liquor/wine, more dense than the white wine edition. Really enjoyable,

Dogbrick (8141) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 5, 2013
Sample at the "Far Out! Space-themed beer tasting" on 10/01/2013. Pours an opaque black color with a medium frothy light brown head that diminishes gradually. Patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of dark chocolate, wood and dark fruit. Full-bodied with a subtle vinous character and flavors of semisweet chocolate, roasted malt and a bit of black licorice. The finish is roasty with a chocolate and oak aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Yorker (1198) - Herning, DENMARK - SEP 27, 2013
Corked 37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with some sediment and a tiny tan head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is chocolate, liquorice, vanilla, red wine, and roasted malt. Flavour is much like the aroma – with some warming alcohol and a bitter finish.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate roasted dark malt, tannic wood and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark roasted sweet flavor with medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid beer.

Sample from a 12.7oz bottle. Dark brown color. Minimal khaki head. Bits of lace. Great red wine, coffee, vanilla aroma. Bigger body. Very light carbonation. Nice light chewiness. Bigger bitter taste, light sweet. Alcohol is well-hidden. Great stuff. Very light carbonation, but very delicious.

750 ml bottle to taster. Looks good; a dark cola with tan lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, chocolate, and red wine. Tastes like it smells with some oak, but less balanced. Average on the palate. Good, not great.
