From bottle @ 2nd BBF. Almost black and opague. Chocolate and soy sauce overshadow the vinous notes in the aroma. The wine-like barrel notes are stronger in the flavor. Partly hidden soy sauce in the aftertaste. Good, but the balance could be better.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2012 Keg at BrewDog Camden. It pours very dark brown, with a decent dark tan head. The nose is roasted malt, tar, wood, alcohol, salty liquorice, tangy fruit, coffee and jam. The taste is salted caramel, liquorice, big alcohol burn, toffee, jammy fruit, charred wood, tar, petroleum, smoke, red wine and treacle. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Yum.

Bottle, bought @ Vinens Verden, Odense.
Completely black, lovely, staying, light-brown creamy head. Aroma has lots of complexity. Chocolate abound, quite a lot of coffee, roasted malts and a lot of tannins, plums, oak. Some sweet-sour feel to it. Low to medium carbonation, dry but also fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour is vinious, dry, lots of hard roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. There are plenty of tannins and a slight tartness to the oak. Still, the overall feel leaves me with some boozy notes which detract - especially considering how well SEVEN was barrel aged.
