Bottle at home (BOE) 25/12/12. Pitch black with a decent tan head that collapses to the edge and leaves a film. Nose is dark chocolate, sweet sugars, dark malts, light wood and booze. Taste comprises roast malts, bitter dark chocolate, wood tones, molasses, touch of liqourice, booze. Full bodied with soft carbonation containg a touch of fizz, boozey sweet finish. A more than decent big and complex imperial stout!

bottle, sampled in a mikkeller glass at home, celebrating having enjoyed 66cl hopping frog doris the destroyer. pitch dark when settled, poured dark clear brown. Head is fantastic, brown lower down, and light brown higher up. dry roasted malty aroma with "just enough" hops to make it very interesting. flavor is flowery hoppy, roasted grainy, red wine, faint wood. actually pretty interesting - You can clearly taste the grapes. somehow they do not add sourness but rather a fresh grape juice like note to the flavor. Overall leaves the impression of being not that strong, and a bit like lemonade. Serve this to the uninformed and they’ll get themselves seriously drunk ;-). The fruity notes (probably both from hops and the wine barrels) makes me think of black and blue berries. This is pretty deep stuff.. I am very grateful that i get to taste it. (entire bottle to myself, HAH). some of the flavor profile leads me to think of imp. IPA, but the rest is a pretty solid imp. stout. While not as balanced and well composed as e.g. yeti imp stout, this one is very unique and one of those beers You’ll be sorry to miss out on.

a darker and richer version compared to the white wine, still a winey grape character but much less mellowing impact than the white allowing the rich malts to stay in the forefront,

From bottle @ 2nd BBF. Almost black and opague. Chocolate and soy sauce overshadow the vinous notes in the aroma. The wine-like barrel notes are stronger in the flavor. Partly hidden soy sauce in the aftertaste. Good, but the balance could be better.

Near black with a large beige head. Sweet aroma with espresso, burned malt, dark chocolate, tannins, red whine and oak. The flavour came out sweet though balanced with tannins, oak, espresso, dark chocolate and vanilla. Plenty of hops came to live in this one cause the sweetness was balanced. Lovely.

faroeviking (10286) - FAROE ISLANDS - JUL 13, 2010
Fløska. Pitch black colour with a big creamish dark brown head. Aroma has deep roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, it’s vinious and with red wine woody notes. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is strong on roasted malt along with chocolate and coffee, wood, alcohol and red wine (tannins)indeed, which gives a mild tart touch towards the very roasty malty chocolate coffee alcohol well lasting finish.
