3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle @ Dan’s house. Black appearance with a brown head. Spicy, dill, cat piss, roasty chocolate, a touch fruity aroma. Spicy, thick herbal/spicy, spice cabinet, a bit syrupy, somewhat boozy, chocolate flavor. Not that hard to drink, but my least favorite of the bunch.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
First the taste is sweet, followed by alcohol with a noticeable twist of Tequila, the aftertaste is evidently licorice. Thick in texture with medium carbonation. Fantastic beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Head: large, creamy, rocky, espresso
Smell: very creamy, packed full of chocolat, tiny hint of tequila mainly the typical ’agave’ vegtable fragerant, slight hints of coffee and this is mainly coffee bitterness, cocoa, quite some boozeyness too
Taste: start is pretty weird it really packs that typical tequila flavour and blends it really well with the main chocolat, coffee and quite the amount of sweetness level in the beer, after that a nice herbal grassy flavour hits in with a dry yeasty note too it , end is lsightly hopy and dry, aftertaste is very very grassy, fresh, little minty and again that fair amount of tequila ....
Normally i don’t like tequila but Mikkel sure made it very drinkable for me ;-) haha , nice one man !

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (consumed with all of the other barrel versions). Pours very dark brown to black with a small beige film. The aroma has roasted malt, dark chocolate, sweet notes from the honey, the agave from the tequila, wood and alcohol. The flavor, although more smooth than the original, contains some harsh maltiness, wood, dark chocolate, alcohol, vanilla, tequila and honey. The base is not my favorite and these variations are not able to improve this significantly.

3/31/12. Bottle shared at colemanzuber’s Stoutfest 2012! Nice black pour with a big tan head that sticks. Interesting aroma, much sweeter, almost tangy and winey. Sweeter (compared to the others) flavor with a bigger oak and vanilla aspect and a touch of alcohol - not sure I could call it tequila. Not bad!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Black body, thin, beige head. You’ve seen one of these Black Hole beers, you’ve seen’m all.
Smell: Modestly aromatic notes of heavily roasted barley, low-grade dark chocolate, charred fruit, and liquor fumes. Small hints of agave here and there.
Taste: Fairly sweetness over the well-roasted malts, still ostensibly harsh, and the bittersweet chocolate taste, still a bit crude. Small hints of vanilla, caramel, but more honey flavor showing than any of these beers. Dash of Lo Siento-brand tequila. Those malts just remain harsh, chalky, and acrid throughout. Boozy, harsh, sugary finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-low carbonation.
Overall: Sure, I’m in a black hole now, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel as, after this brew, there’s only one remaining Black Hole barrel treatment. At times, it felt like a bout of kidney stones - brutal, harrowing, and painful, but at least I can laugh about it now.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black pour, black as night. Big tan head that fades slowly and leaves a bevy of lacing. A slight tequila aroma with big chocolatey malt and coffee. Some vanilla backing it all up nicely. Creamy chocolate flavor up front. Velvety. Some coffee and vanilla. Not much tequila character in the mouth. But there is a nice charred type of flavor. Very good.

Pours black with a small beige head and hints of lacings. Quite sweet with a light bitterness. Aromas of caramel and hoppy hints of spruce. Quite a bit of alcohol. Also aromas of wine, green peppers and tequila. Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Long bitter finish.
