Taste alcohol and coffee and something sour. Smell is like the taste. Sipping beer. Don't like initially but it grows on you. Better warm.

Aroma is dark malts, liquor notes and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is dark malts, liquor notes, tart fruit/dark fruit, a strong undercurrent of sweetness and a sour/acidic finish.

’Tis the season, I suppose. Pour reveals a green transparent bottle a la Grolsch. Dark brown, oily appearance, lots o’ lacing, nice boozy smell, complex, bewildering yet satisfying aftertaste, the taste itself does not hit the mark for me. Not a thick event, but a substantive effort.

Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours black with a tiny tan head and a chocolate and wine aroma. There is a heavy treacle flavor with lots of white wine and a chocolate and plum finish.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Aroma is dark malts with some white white. Color is black with brownish head. Taste is malty roasted malts, get a chocolate covered cherry.

Dark deep brown body. Some herbalness introduced to the rich full body. Taste isn’t as good, somewhat sour and a bit thin considering the base beer. Interesting brew. I like it. (Bottle at Colin’s De Molen tasting)

Bottle. Jet black color, small beige head. Aroma certainly has some white wine mixed with imperial stout. Flavor has a lot wine influences and some roast characters. Very interesting.

Bottle at monthly tasting @ De Molen, hosted by dEnk. Black pour, thin tan head. Aroma is roasted, spicy, alcoholic, some fruity wine. Flavor is sweetish, roasted malts, a hint of alcohol and wine. A bit off balance. Strange combination but interesting brew.

Bottle @ 2nd tuesday tasting. Aroma is deep roasty liquorice, loads of roasty black malts, some woody fruity notes. Flavour is deep bitter roasty liquorice madness, some winey woody notes. Some burning alcohol warmth in the finish. Not the best of the series, doesn’t blend that great, but still nice.
