COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Finally……! Black Hole is what Mikkeller is all about. Daring, vulgar and extreme. From the very beginning Mikkellers goal has been to push the limit and with this warming, intense imperial stout, a new chapter in the Danish beer history has been written. The high bitterness from the hops and the sweetness from the malt and alcohol, creates a good balance which makes Black Hole an explosion of nuances, but also leaves a feeling of a perfect and complex beer – in the heavyweight category.

Poured deep black with no head. The beer had some oak and coffee aromas, the flavor was sweet with coffee and chocolate notes. The palate was cloying, with little carbonation. Overall an interesting and complex beer but too cloying for my tastes.

Large sample pour of blackness with no head. Nose is fully roasted with mild coffee and blackness. Flavor is plenty of coffee and black chocolate.... 98% cacao type. Rich and dark... Heavy but a lighter body than I expected

Snifter. Pitch black w/ short, tan, foamy head. Smells sweet, boozy, coffee. Tastes like it smells, better as it sits. Warming, smooth for 13.1%. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nearly pitchblack, shortlived tanned nice looking head. Aroma of honey, coffee, some booze, dried fruits and quite roasted as well. Taste of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, honey. Burns pleasantly down the chest. Nice, sweet and smooth and deffinately alcoholic but without being boozy. Lacks some carbonation.

Tap at Mikkeller, Victoriagade. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy tan head. The aroma is big malt, liqourice boozy alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a rich roasty coffee dark chocolate dusty mineral liqourice bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation. I’ve had better impy stouts but this is one of the best. The alcohol is well hidden. It gives a nice warm feeling but does not burn.
