Surprise, This is an 18% beer didn’t know that. Its full bodied with the dark tones that a black beer should have bet the sweetness and the body of a barleywine. Its a very good beer but be awake its a LOT of alcohol.

Bottle shared with dad in law, served around 12 celsius. Black with a small head.Smells heavy of alcohol, and some coffe. Alcohol is a bit dominating but not unplesant. Coffe, some chocolate, raisins and a bunch more. Liqourice makes it’s way when it heats up. Long aftertaste. A nice beer that should be shared. A wee bit heavy to finish a whole bottle alone i thinck.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2014 Bottle: Dark brown, nearly black pour. No real head, a few khaki colored bubbled that fade instantly. Nose is super heavy, nearly cloying, very sweet. Brown sugar, chocolate, booze, dates, caramel, mild oxidation, Lots & lots & lots of sweet, residual, unattenuated sugar. Flavor is a little more roasty up front, mild dry cocoa powder. Still a big backbone of brown sugar, molasses, oxidation, anise, leather, & intense sweetness. Warm booziness from start to finish, lingering for days. Mild burnt caramel.
