In Mikkeller we have over the years done many collaboration brews. However, the last one we did was a little unusual – we collaborated with the Swedish tattoo studio Crooked Moon. The two brothers Jacob and Jonas Pedersen that run Crooked Moon Tattoo in Helsingborg wanted to celebrate their tattoo studio’s first birthday with a big party, and what could be more natural than to do it with a beer in their own name? The two brothers have designed the labels for this beer. And therefore this beer comes with two different labels. One by of Jacob, and the other by Jonas. The beer is just like a Crooked Moon tattoo: strong and powerful. In this case we are talking about a violently hoppy double IPA with 9% alcohol. You’ll find Crooked Moon / Mikkeller DIPA find on draft and bottled. The picture show the two labels – Jacob’s label design to the left and of course then, Jonas’ to the right.En dobbelt india pale ale.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, (pilsner, pale), humle (amarillo, citra, nelson sauvin, simcoe, sorachi ace), og alegær.

Ho assaggiato la versione alla spina: un bouquet di frutta davvero vario che mixa bene il fruttato da esteri e quello piu esotico dovuto al luppolo. Lho trovata veramente equilibrata nonostante i suoi 9 gradi.

Birra dal bell’aspetto, abbastanza amara con un retrogusto discreto. Classica IPA da bere in tranquillità. I 9 gradi si sentono tutti.

Pours orange and cloudy with some white specks - maybe yeast - and a small white head. Aroma is a mellow blend of pine and citrus rind. There might be a faint aroma of fermented oranges or it could be the color playing mind tricks and leading me to believe that. Taste is grapefruit rind bitterness up front with mellow sweet orange flavor hitting you at the mid that leads you to a tangerine rind finish. The bitterness that lingers throughout the whole palate is almost chalky in nature. This is a substantial DIPA and really good.

Tap at Beer Hunters. Hazy orange color, good creamy white head. Gooseberries, alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Fruity, citrus, funny candyish fruits. Lingering bitterness and then some alcohol. Interesting but not really my kind of dipa.

Piana: obfita, kremowa, drobno i średniopęcherzykowa. Szybko opada, ale ładnie oblepia szkło.
Zapach: intensywny chmielowy aromat, głównie żółte owoce i cytrusy z lekkimi nutami żywicznymi. Alkohol niewyczuwalny.
Smak: od samego początku intensywna goryczka o cytrusowym charakterze. Piwo dość wytrawne, słodowość nie zakłóca możliwości delektowania się goryczką. Wyraźnie wyczuwalny alkohol szczypiący w gardło i rozgrzewający.
Wysycenie: na średnim poziomie, odpowiednie.

bottle 33 cl 9.0 % abv. hazy orange golden colour with white head. sour aroma. bitter and dry taste with some petrol hints. dry aftertaste. Somewhat boozy. A rather bold ipa from mikkeller R&D.

Tap. Cloudy, light amber. Interesting. This is almost a soft drink for adults. Orange peel is the main thing here with a touch of mint. Subtle. A faint alcohol kick at the finish. You'd never guess it was a 9%. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at C4. Golden beer with a white medium head. Floral aroma with, grapefruit and citrus. Taste is bitter with a strong floral finish, but a parfurmed taste i cant decide what is. Decent craft, have tasted better from mikkeller.

Bottle @ Mogwai, Helsingborg 3/1-15. Hoppy and fruity with notes of grapefruit, pine needles, tropical fruits and eucalyptus(in aroma). Body is medium, the finish is dry, bitter and hoppy.
