3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at Witterfest (Fano meet the brewer), King William IV - 20/08/12.
Pitch black with a khaki head.
Berry fruit on the nose, dark malts, chocolate, notes of port and a boozy whiff but pretty subtle in this respect.
Taste followed nose, port was definately present, berry fruit again, touch of blackberry leading to an alcohol finish.
Full bodied and smooth.

19th August 2012
Cask at Witterfest, King William IV. Opaque black brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, a little dry with mild fine carbonation. Fresh mild dark malts with a little lacto, trace of sweet dark chocolate. A trace of barrel aged glue in there - mild. Nice fruity blackberry and dark fruits. Quite Port winey in the undertone - mild wood and rich red fruits compliment the blackberry very well. Finishes semi dry with a little spice, nice!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at Fanø Meet the Brewer, King William IV. It pours jet black, with a medium tan head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, sticky dark fruit, filter coffee and light charcoal. The taste is roasted malt, blackberry, plum, raisin, grape, rich chocolate gateaux, port, salted caramel, doughnut, liquorice, light sourness and brown sugar, with a tangy-sweet finish. Full body and low carbonation. Flavoursome, but just too sweet for my taste.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask @ Witterfest ’12, King William IV. With blackberries added. The pour’s deep brown with a small tan head. The nose is sweet blackberry jam, some port, after dinner liqueur and wood. Quite sweet and jammy. The taste is blackberry jam, sweet chocolate cake. Hints of smoky wood and charred grains. Hot sweet finish. Full body, soft. Overall, a bit sweet for me, but this beer really lets the blackberry flavors come through. Nice.
