4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap. Pours thick and syrupy black with hardly any head - just a thin brownish film. Sweet roast, pruney, chocolateish, perhaps coffeeish as well. Thick body, great, sweet roasty malts, candy-like, burned sugars and molasses. Again a whiff of coffee. Not really bitter or anything. A potent sipper for sure, but the alcohol is actually pretty well disguised. Lovely. 290712

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Very deep brown colour, close to black. Small brown head. Aroma is coffee, toffee, some fudge, alcohol and ashes. Thick and big but a bit one dimensional. Flavour is quite similar, but has quite strong tart coffeeish notes. Still a bit one dimensional due to the coffee in it.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade
Black color with brown head. Nice sour coffee aroma. Full bodied; smooth mouthfeel, strong roasted malt flavor, strong coffee, a bit ashy in the end. Strong bitterness. Light residual sweetness. Hints of very dark chocolate. A bit salty. In the end, it seems too roasty.
Powerful but uncomplicated.
